Good Buy 04/02/2014
This review is from: ADATA 64GB UV128 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive (AUV128-64G-RBE)
Pros:
This was a good buy on sale. The capacity and speed are very good, and are very close to the advertised specs. It is attractive, capless, and has a strap hole.
Cons:
The outer part and strap hole are made of plastic. I prefer an all metal composition, which the more expensive version has, but I did not like the larger physical size of the more expensive one (too bulky). The actual size was 63.75 GB, where 1 GB = 1E9 bytes, so it was just a tad short of the advertised size.
Overall Review:
I ran USBDeview for my x64 system using a USB 3.0 port and default allocation size, and here are the results:
exFAT (default) format with using USB 3.0 port:
Read: 75 MB/sec
Write: 89 mb/sec
NTFS format using USB 3.0 port:
Read: 74 MB/sec
Write: 15 MB/sec
exFAT (default) format using USB 2.0 port:
Read: 32 MB/sec
Write: 24 mb/sec
NTFS format using USB 2.0 port:
Read: 31 MB/sec
Write: 13 MB/sec
This thing rocks in exFAT format with USB 3.0! Even using USB 2.0, the speed is still very good. I would not use NTFS format with this one, which is very slow.
