This review is from: Lenovo IdeaPad - 15.6" - Intel Core i7-4700MQ - Dual NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M SLI - 8 GB DDR3 - 1TB + 8GB SSHD HDD - Windows 8.1 64-Bit - Gaming Laptop (Y510p (59406636) )
Pros:
Good cpu, RAM, anti - glare 1080p screen and gorgeous red lit keys. Cooling assembly can use better fans and solid copper heat sink instead of aluminum that has been electroplated copper.
Cons:
Unit gets extremely hot under video or gaming. Recommend users running SLI to avoid cooking the thermal paste on the cpu. Fans are not very efficient in keeping the unit cool. After 10min, the top surface of your keys will get hot. Hands will burn if left next to the cpu or GPU exhaust.
BIG NOTE: the paint on the keys have faded and starting to chip of. Gamers factor this as an issue before buying.
Overall Review:
You can get away with most modern games but not at max settings. Pony up a couple more hundreds and get a GTX 770m or better laptop. SLI teens to micro studded a lot.
