backup software difficult to install

Cons:
Backup software requires several other Microsoft programs to install.
The installer can't remember where it left off after a failed install.
Overall Review:
I bought this for my sister-in-law to automagically backup her laptop. The backup software has a lot of dependencies on microsoft programs, such as .net, c++ redist, etc. Had major problems trying to get those installed, (Windows update issues) and the project became a big mess, but I would have preferred a backup software that didn't have so many dependencies.
I ended up installing some other third party backup program since I never got the included back program to work.
