A Router you would not want to waste money 05/06/2014
This review is from: Linksys EA6900 AC1900 Dual Band SMART Wi-Fi Gigabit Router
Pros:
Looks
Cons:
Me and my family invested in a fitness equipment called Linksys AC1900 Smart Wifi router that makes us walk to the router several times a day. Constantly dropping connections with wireless. I have to reset this router several times a day. Linksys has already replaced this router once but even with the replacement router the wireless connection continues to drop. I am tired of getting the stereotyped responses from Linksys telling/talking to me about my settings are wrong or it is my internet provider. I have tried out all settings with the old and the new router recommended by Linksys. I never had problems with my previous router which was also linksys WRT160N. I repent and was stupid of me to giving into sweet talk of the Cisco customer representative for this router without confirming any reviews. It was my blind faith in Linksys that led me to buy this router since this is my 4th router. The only reason I upgraded was because Comcast was giving me 50MBPS and WRT160N was not allowing me to use the speed to the fullest capacity. If had a choice I would have selected a rating lower than 1 but unfortunately these isn't one.
Manufacturer Response:
Hi Devendra,
We regret to hear about your experience. Wireless interference and location can some of the factors for the router's dropping wireless connection. Try adjusting the wireless settings. Give the 2.4GHz and 5GHz separate names (SSIDs), then adjust the channes to 1, 6, 9, or 1 for the 2.4GHz band; 161 and 157 for the 5GHz band. If the drop happens on both wired and wireless connections, we suggest that you upgrade the router's firmware then reconfigure the settings.
We request that you email us your case number from Support so we can investigate on what happened to the router. Send it to us LinksysCares@linksys.com with your contact details, location, and the link to this review.
Regards,
Linksys Support
