Pros:

It came packaged in vacuum sealed anti-static bag with air cushion perfectly designed for HDDs so it should ship okay.

From looking at the externals, the HDD looks well built with no sensitive components on the back of the PCB like some HDDs.

Five year warranty is unrivaled.

Cons:

Unfortunately, the HDD came DOA which is quite disappointing.

If this particular HDD is any indication, it is unreasonably loud for an HDD (louder than 10,000 RPM drive). But this is a defective unit so take this statement with some caution.

Overall Review:

I really hate leaving a bad rating for something that arrived dead, but I have over 1.5TB of data I need to transfer to a larger storage drive, and having a drive come DOA isn't reassuring that I can put faith into this lasting. For me to lose all that data would take a solid month of 24/7 downloading to replace, so I'll be looking into different storage solutions.
