Pros:
ANY time you go through a "powered converter" you are NOT getting an "extension cord", you are getting something that was primarily made to physically fit within the architecture. Most ALL converters will slow drive seek-time, etc. That's the price you pay. There are some tweaks you can try like setting up a larger page-file, etc. But it's not an extension cord.....not when IT has to process a signal.
Cons:
The architecture is VERY open: check your rings and watches before putting your mits inside. The other issue is that if you look at the design it raised from the motherboard; it's easy to harm it IF you have heavy cables or there things that may bump it. It does work fine however.
