I'm beginning to think I'm being punked here or something. I'm not use to tech devices running this well for so long. Not only that but I did pay $479.99 for this and it held it's value for quite some time due to script miners. I even dedicated some time to that myself.
Let me paint a picture here. I've run this card stock. I've run this card with a 23% OC and stock cooling. Custom fan speeds of course but I cannot under any scenario get the temps to go above 60c on this card. During a live stream I pushed BF4 to a 200% res scale in an attempt to do so. Oddly enough the game wasn't unplayable.
Runs very cool. Idles a bit higher for myself due to the dust quilt caked inside. 30c idle. 60c under a hefty OC and somewhat of a load. I can't even really call it load because I've not yet had to dial a game back beyond my preferred settings. And this is with ambient temps in the high 80's to low 90's.
Cons:
The card is no longer for sale so all of this is irrelevant anyway but the length was the only issue I had. I had purchased this exact model elsewhere to crossfire the cards but by the time I got around to installing it I realized my Lian Li's HD cage was going to interfere so I had to choose between my 2nd GPU or my C985 capture card. Haven't yet had the need for a 2nd GPU so the capture card stayed.
Overall Review:
This was my 1st Sapphire purchase. At the time I didn't know much about the company. In my eyes 1 for 1 is still a winning streak. I've been looking to build another rig and they earned a spot on my ideal parts list when I use pcpartpicker. There are only so many manufacturers I'll trust when it comes to each part.
