Pros:

When it worked properly it was adequate, though those times were very few...

Cons:

This was easily the worst dock I have ever used. The first time I used it I noticed that the speeds were slower than I was accustomed to with my other USB 3 docks. It was faster than USB 2, but not as fast as it should have been. I noticed that it didn't like some of my older HDDs, the transfer speeds for an old M*xtor and an old W*stern D*igital were about 30MB/s, which is exactly what I get from a USB 2 dock that I use and about half of what I should get from those drives. About the fastest that it would transfer was 75MB/s, which is not great for a SATA III 7200 HDD over USB 3. The other (far more serious) issue I had was random dismounts. There's nothing more frustrating than having a drive dismount in the middle of a Blu-Ray burn. This dock refused to stay mounted for anything from file copies to disc burns. The dismounting was completely unpredictable. It dismounted 4 times in a half an hour, and another time it stayed mounted for nearly 4 hours. It didn't seem to matter if there was one drive in or two, it behaved erratically (and performed poorly) in all cases.

This case was tested on a Windows 7 x64 system and a MAC running 10.58 with similar results on each.

Overall Review:

I never got the opportunity to try the cloning feature. If I can't keep a HDD mounted to my computer I wasn't about to trust it to clone drives. I purchased this at a local store (not Newegg) and as such I had to return it within a week to get my money back. I wanted to give it every chance so I worked with it every way I know how, but nothing I did changed anything. I suggest avoiding this dock. Spend the extra money and get something that works. In the end that's what I had to do.
