Big improvement 12/31/2014
This review is from: MSI MSI Gaming X99S Gaming 9 ACK LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros:
The MSI boards have always looked good and have been reliable. I really liked their design.
I really like the fact that I didn't have to flash the bios on this one.
I also like the fact that the UEFI is so much better than it was just a year ago, big plus!
OC genie, I simply pressed dat button and I didn't have to sacrifice any goats to the OC G0ds!
Last but not least...that glowing shield is just so beautiful!
Cons:
Super expensive, this board. But its worth it for reliability and quality.
Overall Review:
Motherboards of the same model will function just the same though they are at different price points and come from different manufacturers. The only difference I've noticed is the UEFI, and maybe a few added gimmicks, and quality. What you're paying for here is quality.
I've always bought ASUS for everything because they were the cheapest. Ironically enough, I shelled out top dollar for the most expensive asus flagship motherboards for my last 2 builds, and they both came in dead, and partially dead. I've gotten 2 bad ASUS motherboards in a row now and I didn't want a 3rd one so I decided to go with MSI and they have been absolutely flawless.
