LG 29UM67-P 29" 2560 x 1080 (2K) 60 Hz DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort FreeSync (AMD Adaptive Sync) Built-in Speakers IPS Monitor
  • 2560 x 1080
  • FreeSync & Dynamic Action Sync
  • Screen Split, Ultrawide 21:9
  • BLACK STABILIZER, GAME MODE
  • 2 x HDMI, DisplayPort, Speaker

Pros:

-The colors are absolutely beautiful, having used other IPS displays in the past this is no exception, and the response time is great.
-Software to divide you massive 2560x1080 display into other displays if wanted.
-Well packaged, good Styrofoam inserts around the screen, and a peel-able plastic on the plastics on the screen preventing scratch damage.
-Movies take up the entire screen, compared to 16:9 or 16:10 a movie will take up the entire screen of a 21:9 monitor.
-Gaming on a 21:9 monitor can give you a big advantage as you can see more, and when you adjust the FOV it doesn't look as messed up as it does on smaller screens.
-If you have an AMD GPU this supports FreeSync (Adaptive sync, part of Displayport 1.2a's standard) Would be nice if Nvidia also supported this standard.
-Compatible with VESA mounts so you can either wall mount it or put it on a monitor arm with ease.
-When you receive the monitor included with it is a paper with your monitors serial number and the calibration results, while I don't have access to professional measurement tools, these look really great.
-3.5mm Audio jacks if you use DVI and want the audio.

Cons:

Its huge, make sure you have the desk space!
-3 of the 4 video connectors (DVI, Displayport, and HDMI) face directly back from the monitor, if you plan on mounting this flush with a wall you may need 90 degree connectors. The last HDMI connector is parallel with the screen.
-By default in my opinion the brightness is extremely high, and had to be turned down quite a bit so it wasn't painful on my eye's especially at night, if you in general work in an extremely well lit room than the default setting should be ok.
-When manually using the OSD turning off the display (plugged in via DP) the computer acted like the display had been removed (played the noise of removing a device), this may cause in issue with icon location and windows that are currently up on the screen. Not sure if this is a DP issue or a screen issue as I only have one screen with DP.

Overall Review:

Power supply is an external power brick, which while isn't large in size it is slightly larger than I have seen some similar in capacity power bricks but it is easy to tuck away.
In terms of dimensions the panel (and surrounding plastic) is 11.75" tall and 27.5" wide without the stand, with the stand it is 16" tall.
For the IPS panel itself, there is a 0.33" border around the top and left sides as you can see in the images, the actual visible screen size is about 11.25" vertical, and 26.5" horizontal (29" diagonal). It is lacking a bit in height compared to my 24" 1920x1200 panels, so moving the mouse from one screen to another isn't 100% smooth.

-The Onscreen display is controlled by a joystick in the center (please do not rest the monitor on this), while I in general having several different buttons available, the joystick works just fine and allows you the navigate the OSD with ease, to change inputs or configure monitor settings).
At full price ($599) this is quite expensive, as of this review it is $449.99, and I have seen it on sale for as low as $349.99. At nearly $600 I find this a hard recommendation, $449 is reasonable and $349 is amazing.
