Great Bang for the Buck 07/06/2016
This review is from: GIGABYTE Radeon RX 480 8GB PCI Express 3.0 x16 ATX Video Card GV-RX480D5-8GD-B
Pros:
Great performance for the dollar. This card will generally out run a GTX980 at half the price. It is also quite power efficient for the performance.
Two of these in Crossfire (on an appropriate MB) will bring you up to the performance of a GTX1070 for a substantially less cost.
Cons:
This card only has display port connections and 1 HDMI. It comes with no adapters. So be sure your monitor supports one of those, or you get an appropriate adapter with it if you need DVI or VGA. The only other con is everyone knows they are the best bang for the buck and they are regularly out of stock.
Overall Review:
Like most video cards using either AMD and NVidia GPUs, I am not usually happy with the stock fan settings. But AMD is including "Wattman" with the Radeon Settings application in their driver package. You can manually set the fan speed curve there and it keeps it quite cool.
