Nice quality motherboard. 10/26/2016
This review is from: ASUS H170 PRO GAMING LGA 1151 Intel H170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros:
Quality, substantial feel, not flimsy at all.
Nice looking 'board.
Works flawlessly, once I got OS installed.
Runs 3 monitors, plenty of expandability, excellent workmanship, good solid unit.
Cons:
SATA ports face front - I prefer them facing up for ease of access. If you have several HDDs and the HDD cage is right in front of the board like mine is, you have to plug the SATA cables in before you put it in the case.
Windows 7 wouldn't install from USB drive. Try as I might, and I googled the daylights out of it, I couldn't get the OS to install. I kept getting a message that it needed CD/DVD drivers to continue. I tried about 10 different suggestions I found, but none worked. I finally relented and installed via DVD. I pretty sure it's something to do with the UEFI settings, but I couldn't find it. Asus should know that most techs and enthusiasts install the OS with a USB flash drive, and they shouldn't make it so difficult to do.
Overall Review:
I subtracted one egg for the inability to easily install Win7 via USB. Otherwise, I'd recommend this board all day long.
