worth it just for the SATA card
Pros: 3TBs, but the reason I'm giving this a five is that the SATA PCI-E card wores and allows me to add 2 drives. I purchesed a Rosewell card a few months ago and had to remove it fdrom my system.
Cons: None.
Good product soso vendor
Pros: Good product Good price
Cons: average to poor vendor - I never got the e-mail from the vendor with delivery details (as promised in the first post purchase e-mails). I called the vendor and eventually got a call from the delivery company telling me they had scheduled a delivery for a particular day. When I asked to change it to better fit my schedule, they told me I would get a $100 dollar storage fee if I wasn't home when they came by, and even if I paid the $100 fee, they would just schedule another delivery whenever it was convenient for them and I would need to be home on that day or pay anther $100 storage fee. I needed to schedule a day off work without being able to give reasonably advanced warning to my boss.
Inexpensive, slow
Pros: Inexpensive - I'll give it 4 stars because it's better than I expected for the price.
Cons: So slow that sometimes I'm not sure it registered my mouse clicks. I plan on placing a cheep SSD as it's hard drive and expect this to help.
Overall Review: I hate Windows 8. This is my first experience with windows 8. Please Microsoft, relent and give me back the start button and allow me to boot to the desktop. I had to install Chrome and VLC just to be able to do the first couple things I tried.
Good, but didn't fix problem
Pros: Cut 30 seconds from boot time. Application startup very fast.
Cons: None
Overall Review: I bought this mainly to improve my terrible boot up times. The SSD did all it could, and did help substancially (about 30 seconds), but my boot up time remained bad (over 2 minutes). I removed non-microsoft services and startup tasks (one of which was added by the data migration utility provided by INTEL) and cut another 6 seconds off of boot. Then I tried unplugging my computer from the network and my system booted (power off to windows ready ding sound) in about 45 seconds. It turns out the the NAS and popcorn hour NMTs (5 in all) were responsible for the majority of my problem. This is not this products fault, but this is just a word of warning that the SSD cann't fix things outside it's control.
Problems
Pros: Installed fairly easily, worked for a couple of days.
Cons: My system became unstable, Windows would occasionally freeze on the 'windows starting screen, the device would disappear from "Computer" list and from the disc managment screens, I had to boot from my windows 7 CD to repair somw windows startup files once. All in all much more danger than it was worth.
Fair, but got spoiled with AIW 9600
Pros: Works for what I've tried so far. I only need the analog cable viewing, so it's all I have tried.
Cons: Picture is clear when no movement is present, but the parts of the scene that display movement become fuzzy during movement. OK for casual usage.
Overall Review: E8400 with intel onboard 3100 graphics. The quality of the picture during movement is far inferior to my old ATI AIW 9600 PRO. I'm not sure if it's inherent in the speeed of the USB input, or caused by my low end graphics card. If I was sure my graphics unit wasn't the cause I'd give it 2 egs.
