Most Favorable Review

A little disappointed

TRENDnet 8-Port Gigabit GREENnet Switch, Ethernet Network Switch, 8 x 10-100-1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Ports, 16 Gbps Switching Capacity, Metal, Lifetime Protection, Black, TEG-S82G
TRENDnet 8-Port Gigabit GREENnet Switch, Ethernet Network Switch, 8 x 10-100-1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Ports, 16 Gbps Switching Capacity, Metal, Lifetime Protection, Black, TEG-S82G

Pros: Price is great - even lower than the older model TEGS80G. Metal housing, stays cool, works like a charm.

Cons: They removed a lot of extras - even something I didn't thing should have been cut. There are no port indicator lights for speed. The previous models all have visual indicators of port speed. That help one immediately determine if a slower, older cable is plugeed in or if the device is not gigabit compliant. On this model, there is only a single green light that goes on when the cable is connected and flickers to show data transfer - no indication of link speed. I find that terribly disappointing.

Overall Review: Price cutting should really only go that deep, and not to the point where a few LEDS (and associated circuitry?) are omitted.

Great product, now with QA issues?

NZXT Kraken X41 RL-KRX41-01 140mm All-In-One Water / Liquid CPU Cooling Solution
NZXT Kraken X41 RL-KRX41-01 140mm All-In-One Water / Liquid CPU Cooling Solution

Pros: - It's IMHO one of the best AIO liquid coolers. It's quiet and cools very efficiently. The PWM fan adjusts through the motherboard to rising temperatures.

Cons: This isn't my first Kraken X41. The others I've used worked perfectly and I have no complaints whatsoever. BUT. The most recent one I received had a leak where the hose entered the radiator reservoir. I noticed it before installing and then saw that the cardboard packaging was damp. Manipulation of the cooler resulted un gurgling noises as the remaining fluid flowed through the tubing. Newegg was very supportive in arranging for returns.

Overall Review: I RECOMMEND YOU CAREFULLY INSPECT YOUR COOLER BEFORE INSTALLATION. I have now, after the fact, read a number of reviews that indicate leaks detected during the install process. It may be that NZXT has a QA problem that needs addressing.

Great monitor stand

VIVO Black Dual LCD Monitor Desk Mount Stand, Heavy Duty Fully Adjustable, Fits 2 Screens up to 30" (STAND-V002)
VIVO Black Dual LCD Monitor Desk Mount Stand, Heavy Duty Fully Adjustable, Fits 2 Screens up to 30" (STAND-V002)

Pros: I have not found one real issue with this monitor stand. It's well-made, solid and holds my two monitors perfectly, at the right angle and exactly where I want them. The instructions were clear and assembling it and installing the monitors were a snap. The arms are sturdy and my monitors exhibit no sagging.

Cons: This is a nit. It would really have been nice if the screws to secure the VESA mounts to the monitors were black like all other parts were.

Overall Review: I was hesitant to get this monitor stand, since many at much higher prices were rated so low - but I thought that at $42 I could take a gamble. It paid off. This monitor stand is the bees' knees.

A bit on the heavy side

SYBA GamesterGear PC200 PC Wired Gaming Headset with Detachable Mic
SYBA GamesterGear PC200 PC Wired Gaming Headset with Detachable Mic

Pros: They were cheap - on special sale at Newegg. The braided cable is nice.

Cons: I find them much heavier than my previous pair (that a new puppy chewed the leads off). I think wearing them for extended periods of time may be a strain. The microphone is fiddly, since it is removable. Either it is attached and sticks out or you take it off and hope it doesn't get lost? My previous pair had a swivel microphone that could swivel out of the way. The earphones come with a braided cable, ut requires an additional extension cable to split the cable up into the separate cables for mic and earphones. The extra cable looks like all other electronic cables - not braided. The biggest con is that the mic and earphone cables are not clearly marked. I had to look at the instruction manual to figure out that the microphone was the light gray plug and the earphones the black plug.

Overall Review: All in I'm not thrilled, but I did practically no research and just bought these on sale at Newegg. I might return them, since my return shipping is free and I pay no RMA costs (Yay Newegg Premium), but otherwise I'd probably not use them and just recycle them.

Not very good

SHARKOON 000SKSK Skiller Keyboard
SHARKOON 000SKSK Skiller Keyboard

Pros: Good price. Replaceable keys for gaming.

Cons: The most important thing in a keyboard is obviously the keys. This is where the Skiller fails regrettably. THe keys are mushy - much more so than my other rubber-dome keyboards, and almost impossible to use when transferring from a mechanical keyboard. Especially disappointing is the fact that the WASD keys seem "softer" than the rest of the keys. I am never sure whether I've actually pressed them or not and I'm always slightly surprised when I see a reaction to me having pressed one of these keys.

Overall Review: There are blue, "softer", more rubbery feel keys for the WASD and arrow keys, but they really don't feel nice and I don't like the tactile sensation. Weirdly, in the middle of the palm rest, they put a blue LED logo - that's the only part of the keyboard that lights up. But it's somewhat distracting since it's right between my hands, and just about where my eyes always catch it. I'd have sent it back, but for $20 it's not worth it. I'll just junk it.

Very Short connection cable

HooToo® HT-UH005 Ultra-Slim Compact SuperSpeed USB 3.0 4-Port Hub (Latest VIA VL812 Chipset, 5V/2A Power Adapter, 2.3 feet USB 3.0 Cable, Free Magic Velcro Stickers)
HooToo® HT-UH005 Ultra-Slim Compact SuperSpeed USB 3.0 4-Port Hub (Latest VIA VL812 Chipset, 5V/2A Power Adapter, 2.3 feet USB 3.0 Cable, Free Magic Velcro Stickers)

Pros: Very small, neat and tidy. Has ports on front and back. Will fit nicely on my monitor stand. Has a piece of Velcro pre-cut to size to fix - without this the unit is so light it will most likely move and not be stable.

Cons: I can't really comment on any aspect of connectivity, performance or longevity. The unit ships with a very short, specialized USB able. The connecting USB cable is 26 inches (65 cm) long, which is not really long enough to get from my desktop to near my monitors, even I don't try and route the cables for tidyness.

Overall Review: I've had other USB hubs that I've had to weigh down to hold them steady - with the reduced size of this one it becomes imperative.

Mismatched goods sold

The items that arrived, while functionally able to do the task required, did not actually match the image that was posted on the item description. These differences rendered the item unusable. I did not return them since they were cheapp and postage, etc. would be as much as the items were worth.
