Zonet ZPS3601 1 Port 10/100Mbps LPT Print Server RJ45 LPT

Comments: Fast and easy installation. No problems placing my old HP DeskJet 692c on my WinXP Pro/Win2000 home network. The unit is small and compact, works perfectly.

Most Critical Review

Questionable Quality ...

CORSAIR Hydro Series H100 (CWCH100) Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
CORSAIR Hydro Series H100 (CWCH100) Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: -Thermal Compound Included -Easy Installation -Clean, Efficient Design -Promise of Worry-Free CPU Cooling

Cons: -Radiator Fins Bent Out-of-the-box -Potential for Leaks -Mediocre Instructions Included -Fan Screws Protrude & Bend Radiator Fins Even More -Poor Insulation on Wiring

Overall Review: I was 1/2 through the installation of a new out-of-the-box H100 Liquid CPU Cooler into a new system build. The radiator has been mounted & the pump has been mounted to the CPU. I was beginning to mount the twin 120mm fans to the radiator when I noticed that one of the fans had a "nick" in the power lead all the way down to the wire (not safe!). No I get the joy of placing my build "on-hold" while I wait for Corsair to respond to my "fan only" RMA request & then wait even longer as the potential replacement fan get shipped. ~sigh~

Perfect Size & Capability, but Features Need Improvement

Samsung CLX Series CLX-3305FW MFC / All-In-One Up to 19 ppm 2400 x 600 dpi Color Print Quality Color USB / Wi-Fi Laser Printer
Samsung CLX Series CLX-3305FW MFC / All-In-One Up to 19 ppm 2400 x 600 dpi Color Print Quality Color USB / Wi-Fi Laser Printer

Pros: Perfect Size for a Home Office. It's a full function Laser Printer. Set's up & installs easily ... even when using over a LAN.

Cons: Biggest beef ... the FAX functionality. Every time the freaking phone rings, the Printer wakes and starts a warm-up cycle. This causes increased energy usage & wear on the machine. There is no setting to remedy this ... only option is to unplug the phone line from the unit.

Overall Review: I bought this to replace a Samsung CLX-3175FW that decided to start ghost printing.

Stay Away ... Far Away

ASUS P9X79 DELUXE LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: -Impressive List of Features -Good Looks -Promise of Stability

Cons: -Other than the looks, none of the Pros apply in reality

Overall Review: So I made the mistake of falling for the Asus P9X79 Deluxe back in September, and as of now (December), I have yet to have a functional PC using this board. I am absolutely, totally, at a loss as to what the problem could be! Build Detail: Board: Asus P9X79 Deluxe (RMA'd x2) Chip: Intel Core i7-3930K 3.2 GHz (RMA 'd x2) Cooling: Corsair H100 Power: CoolerMaster 1200W Pro 80 Gold (RMA'd x2) RAM: 1st Try: 16GB of Corsair Vengence - 2nd Try: 16GB of GSkill Ripjaws Z Vid: EVGA GeForce GTX670 Boot Drive: Intel 520 SSD 240GB Data Drive: Hitachi SATA 6gbs 2TB HDD Case: Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced So on the first power-on, my system actually "did" show video & attempt to POST. It got about 1-min in & shutdown on it's own ... never to boot again. So I did all the typical system checks, ending with a bare bench test ... nothing. All the system would do is run in a continuous loop of spinning the fans for a second & flickering some LED's. 2nd board shows up from Asus; it was missing a heatsing lug out of the box ... so right back it went (no system test with this board). 3rd board shows up from Asus & looked good, so into the build it goes. Still, I get the exact same results ... "00" Q-Code, no beeps, a solid red CPU_LED, and NO POST. Yep, I even updated the BIOS. A call back to Asus results in the attention now being on the CPU (Intel Core i7-3930K 3.2 GHz). So it get's RMA'd. New one arrives brand new in the box, install it, & same result. Next call back to Asus results in the Power Supply being the focus (CoolerMaster 1200W Pro 80 Gold) ... even though my Thermaltake PS Tester says it's A-OK. So, I RMA the Power Supply. New one arrives, install it, & same result. Most recent call back to Asus results in yet another RMA for the board ... but I'm afraid this trend may continue. Read my misery here, and pick another board, brand, whatever ... but don't pick THIS BOARD!

Small, Cheap, & Buggy

HP Debranded Eee PC Eee PC 4G – Galaxy Black Intel Mobile CPU 7" WVGA 512MB Memory 4GB SSD NetBook
HP Debranded Eee PC Eee PC 4G – Galaxy Black Intel Mobile CPU 7" WVGA 512MB Memory 4GB SSD NetBook

Pros: Small, portable, fully functional PC on a budget.

Cons: Buggy Linux software. Beware of any "updates"; they can wreak quite a bit of havoc with your system. Simple things like adding a printer can take you into Linux no-mans land. Low storage space. Installing XP can be a PitA.

Overall Review: Excellent effort, but before it's time? Maybe when solid state storage can be a minimum of 20 gigs this little monstor will be useful. Oh, and yes, Windows XP is better and much easier to use.

Great customer support

APEVIA X-Dreamer II ATXB4KLW-BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 420W Power Supply

Comments: This case is really great for the price! I recommend buying a different power supply, but other than that, it's great! Mine arrived undamaged and fast! Aspire's customer support is also excellent!! when I needed some additional Mother Board stand-off "clips", they quickly shipped me out a pack free!!
