Bytecc BT4270 TV mount
Pros: Good construction, Heavy gauge metal, Responsive support from Bytecc. Supplied many mounting hardware. Reasonable price. Fast shipping from Newegg.
Cons: Supplied level on wall plate is not accurate. Wall plate mounting slots does not fit 3 stud, 16 inch apart, mounting. Requires drilling 2 new holes on the wall plate, or file to enlarge the existing slot opening . Need to buy four M6X20 screws to attach brackets to a Panasonic 58 inch LED TV. The supplied metric screws were either too long or too short.
Overall Review: Supplied instruction shows how to mount it on 3 studs 16 inches apart. In reality it cannot be done without modification. Bytecc need to redesign the wall plate mounting slots. Bytecc support is now aware of this problem.
Pros: It came with the latest firmware. Generally works with USB3 and Win8.0
Cons: It does not work with Sony VAIO SVE1720 USB3 port (WIN 8.0) but only works with its USB 2 port.
Overall Review: Not worth to return it as it does work with some PC.
Inconsistent quality
Pros: Fairly good speed and display. Google play is available and apk download works well.
Cons: RMA the first one with WiFi unable to detect IP, and hangs, cannot access the internet. Insensitive screen, requires more than one tap.
Overall Review: Because of poor quality control, buying one is a gamble. NewEgg accepted RMA quickly and replaced it with a working one.
Not a good buy
Pros: So far this recertified HD works. Passes WD diagnostic test.
Cons: Scuff marks and scratches on the outer metal face. Very short warranty.
Overall Review: The cost of a new higher capacity HD with 3 yr warranty is only $ 12 more. Very fast shipping from NewEgg.
Good HD until it failed
Pros: Fast and quiet until it failed.
Cons: Failed after 3 months. First it appears slow on Boot Up then failed to boot. WD diagnostic yield failure Error=04 with Code 96. Requested RMA from WD.
Good while it lasted
Pros: Compact, very portable and at reasonable price.
Cons: After less than 2 month of very light use. it stopped being recognized by any PC. Its light blinking continuously with no means of accessing the data on the 2.5" drive.
Overall Review: RMA process from WD was easy, but I had to pay shipping to return it to WD for replacement. Always had good luck with WD 3.5 " internal hard drives.
