Own 12 and no issues at all
Pros: Huge space, good price.
Cons: Slow but steady.
Overall Review: Well I bought 6 of these to replace their 1TB cousins which had faithfully served for 2 years. So out of 12 WD green drives (EADS variety) I've never had a single issue and they've performed flawlessly - on 24 hours/7 days. Maybe the Western Digital Fairy likes me, I don't know. But I'll stick to what I know works. The drives have all be used in an HP WHS (first/oldest model).
Does the job, but...
Pros: Fits over mirror. 2 cameras let you record in different directions. Records audio. Mirror itself is larger than most standard mirrors. Super long power cord. You can view the videos right on/in the mirror which is nice. Comes with an sd card. I have both cameras pointed forward for more than 180 degree field of view (though the split is not perfect).
Cons: Doesn't remember settings after powering off - my battery is bad in a new unit? Video isn't really HD - it's just not as clear as I'd like but it will show if someone crashes into you lol, just not enough to capture license plate info... unless you are very lucky. Mirror grabs existing mirror, but not tight enough as mirror vibrates while moving making it hard to use your rearview mirror to see behind you! Directions are horrible. Only a few buttons to navigate menus... buttons have to be short pressed or long-pressed depending on what you want to do. Nightvision is really useless unless you are pointing it at your passengers inside the car. and zoom can't be selected for just one camera. this is the worst drawback. Can't zoom in the rear-facing camera to catch bad drivers behind you, as you must leave the forward camera to have maximum field of vision.
Overall Review: I got mine for $100 so I'm happy with that price and what I got for it. Feel safer while driving already in case I ever get into an accident.
Awesome headphones
Pros: - great at reducing outside noise - FANTASTIC battery life. not only do they last forever on a full charge, I had let them sit unused for 4 months and went to plug them in to charge, thinking the battery was dead, then I thought they were broken because the charge light didn't come on... but it didn't come on because the battery was still at 99% and only needed a few seconds to top off. wow. like to see any BEATS headphone do that (or my iphone for that matter). - pairs easily - great sound - medium weight - doesn't have chunks of metal in the headpiece like BEATS do (those headsets have weights in them to make them feel more substantial than they really are and that is a cheap gimmick) - comfortable for extended wearing - can use with cord if your battery ever does die lol
Cons: - doesn't cancel all outside noise like in-ear plugs can do, but that's really a good thing (i.e. you can hear the oncoming car/bus/train)
Overall Review: I don't know what that other reviewer was talking about for having a poor fit (loose, uncomfortable). she must have a head like one of the coneheads.... I guess youngsters wear more than their pants falling off lol. If you put them on correctly, they will fit snugly, but without squeezing your head like a walnut. And for style, they look very nice - typical SONY design so expect it to be worth it and look great.
Surge strips are NOT for lightning
Pros: RJ45 protection
Cons: big spikes still destroy things. these protective devices all need to be replaced after a few years too... though none of them say so!
Overall Review: To clear up mis-information, there is *nothing* on this planet which will protect your equipment from a direct strike short of physically unplugging it. I know, it just happened to me lol. That said, these things work to moderate spikes in voltage which damage equipment. Whether from your refrigerator kicking on or a lightning strike down the street, they can help protect your stuff. But it also depends on how powerful the surge is... and where it originates. Big plus on RJ45 protection. I lost anything with an ethernet port-- destroyed all ports-- whether something was turned on or not. wish I had had something like this protecting the network from the street-side and from where my 200' run from the garage comes into the house!!!!
Intel NICs don't always work with MS systems...
Pros: An Intel card and cheap.
Cons: Does NOT work with WHS2011, no matter what board you have (Gigabyte). You (newegg) should list supported OS's, as it would appear by all comments (and by common sense) that this card would work with just about anything :(
Work OK but not latest model
Pros: PC performance to match your fastest PC you own, at a fraction of the cost. Great for casual web surfing, or working with word processing/spreadsheet apps. Perfect for guest rooms or kids rooms.
Cons: Extremely fussy to set up. Server software obliterates normal XP login and replaces with different login on server. No USB ports on L130 unit (the other reviewer obviously was reviewing the L230 or L300 as he was mentioning USB ports). Resolution-- it says it supports larger than 800x600, and other resolutions are listed... but NONE work on my LCD which does support higher resolution. For home use, netflix and other streaming services do NOT allow you to access through any thin clients (as thin clients utilize RDC - remote terminal connection - to access the main server PC).... this is a huge bummer, as there ARE limitations to these things and you CANNOT do everything on them that you can do on your PC!!!!!! Better off purchasing a netbook-- they are pretty much the same price range as the L300 anyway...
