Gotta love apple and their customers

StarTech.com MDVIHDMIMF No Mini DVI to HDMI Video Cable Adapter for Macbooks and iMacs
StarTech.com MDVIHDMIMF No Mini DVI to HDMI Video Cable Adapter for Macbooks and iMacs

Pros: does the trick, works just fine. Free shipping, not bad.

Cons: A bit of a snug fit on the mdvi side. not a big deal though.

Overall Review: Let me just say that if your only complaint about the product is that you BOUGHT THE WRONG ONE then don't give the product a bad review, it's your own fault you poor dummy. From the average buyer review you'd think these guys had shipped you a box full of snakes and a middle finger. I almost bought the mdp adapter but I noticed that the pins didn't look right, did a little more research and found out that macbooks pre-2007 used mdvi outputs. I went to an apple store and asked for one, the guy handed me an mdp connector and I had to explain to him what I wanted, he said they don't sell them anymore. Good folks, Apple (eyeroll). So anyway, I bought this connector for my girlfriend's early 2007 macbook and it does the job just fine. If you have an older macbook (spring 2007 or earlier), then this is what you want.

Died in a week

OCZ Petrol 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) PTL1-25SAT3-128G
OCZ Petrol 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) PTL1-25SAT3-128G

Pros: it is what it says it is. Ran nice and fast for about a week.

Cons: Put it in as the primary drive on a computer I built for my parents. A week into ownership it started unmounting at random times and hiccuping during startup, a few days later it was completely cooked. Bios can't even see it. I have another OCZ drive in my desktop that doesn't have this problem. If OCZ resolves the issue I'll bring up the rating, but for now it's one star because I have a non-working drive.

excellent

SanDisk Ultra 2.5" 120GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SDSSDH-120G-G25
SanDisk Ultra 2.5" 120GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SDSSDH-120G-G25

Pros: nice and snappy, 20 second boot time for windows 7 (plus 20 seconds for the bios to boot, so I didn't count that)

Cons: none. I've had trouble with other SSD's and this one is running pretty solid so far.

Overall Review: A good bet if you're stuck with the older SATA2 format like me. Just be aware that there are faster drives out there if your board is SATA3 enabled.

Not Solid State, but next best thing

Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD3000HLFS 300GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD3000HLFS 300GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: I was having some really long load times with my previous HDD, which was an old 80G PATA format from 2005.. The velociraptor is a few times faster, load times no longer a problem. Plenty of space. I couldn't believe how quickly I got windows, drivers, and games back up on the system it took me an afternoon to reinstall instead of a whole day. Looks boss.

Cons: None presently. The speed won't make you lose your mind or anything, but it is noticeably better than my old 7200rpm drive, and the cost of SSD's is so outrageous that this is really your best option if you want a fast HDD that will also have enough space to put all your stuff on it.

A lot of power for the price

AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition - Phenom X4 Quad-Core 2.5 GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Desktop Processor - HD985ZXAJ4BGH
AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition - Phenom X4 Quad-Core 2.5 GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Desktop Processor - HD985ZXAJ4BGH

Pros: I have mine overclocked at 6%, all four cores continuously activated and it's running great. I used a liquid heat sink so I'm not sure how it'll run with a fan, but I imagine it'll do fine. Good gaming performance, good multitasking performance. Can't beat the price.

Cons: If only it had 8 cores!

Plenty O Juice

PC Power & Cooling Fatal1ty Gaming Series 550 Watt 80+ Semi-Modular Active PFC Performance Grade ATX PC Power Supply (OCZ550FTY)
PC Power & Cooling Fatal1ty Gaming Series 550 Watt 80+ Semi-Modular Active PFC Performance Grade ATX PC Power Supply (OCZ550FTY)

Pros: Great set for the money. Comes with a set of very diesel, very rubber-mesh-coated power cords that look like they can survive a vicious knifing and still keep on ticking. Power output seems to be plenty for my system. pretty lights. looks boss.

Cons: the cords are stiff which can be a pain when you're digging around inside your box, but really nothing prohibitive.
