Good addition to computer

Nippon Labs Delux Internal Card Reader with Floppy Drive 3.5” Internal All In One Card Reader/Writer with USB2.0 & FDD1.44" & 3.5" FLOPPY DRIVE Model ICR-EE
Nippon Labs Delux Internal Card Reader with Floppy Drive 3.5” Internal All In One Card Reader/Writer with USB2.0 & FDD1.44" & 3.5" FLOPPY DRIVE Model ICR-EE

Pros: This installed easily with only one problem & everything works well. The USB cord is of adequate length. There is one extreme caution that is mentioned in Cons below. I would have given it 5 eggs otherwise.

Cons: The USB connector for the motherboard is not wired with standard color coding of the wires. The black and brown wires are the positive 5 volt leads that should go to pins 1 & 2 of the USB socket on the motherboard. These should have been red. I used an ohmeter to verify the proper continuity. Note: Pay no attention to the little triangular arrow on the connector as it should point to pin #1 but doesn't with this unit.

Overall Review: Installed in a Rosewill R512BS Mid Tower Case using a Foxconn A7GM-S motherboard.

G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR

Pros: Performed flawlessly in my new computer build since 2011. G.Skill honors their lifetime warranty.

Cons: 1 of the 2 4GB modules failed after 3 years of service causing intermittent crashes and BSOD's.

Overall Review: I am writing this review to commend G.SKILL for a prompt free replacement of one 4GB module after 3 years of use. Good benchmarks and excellent warranty service maintains a 5 egg rating!

Fast drive & good replacement service

OCZ Vertex 4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) VTX4-25SAT3-128G
OCZ Vertex 4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) VTX4-25SAT3-128G

Pros: Fast drive, great performance & recent excellent service from OCZ.

Cons: The first drive lasted 3 months, no longer seen in BIOS. I returned it via RMA and tested the second one. It failed after 20 minutes of diagnostics. The 3rd SSD arrived today and it works fine.

Overall Review: I knocked only one egg off this review because of the excellent and fast service from OCZ. With all experiences over the past 30 years in RMA's and such, this company excels in service.

Excellent Mechanical Keyboard

Rosewill RK-9000I - Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switches
Rosewill RK-9000I - Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switches

Pros: This keyboard compares more than favorably to my Northgate Omnikey and Avant Prime keyboards which are about 20 years old now. The feel & fit is perfect for my typing.

Cons: Absolutely none.

Overall Review: It really pays to pay extra for quality like this. The difference between this keyboard and a membrane type is the same as an LCD monitor to an old CRT monitor. They do the same thing but the quality and performance difference is huge.

Good Experience

TRENDnet TEW-432BRP Wireless Broadband Router 802.11b/g up to 54Mbps/ 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Port x4

Pros: Everything worked well on first try. Wireless coverage OK. Found the menu navigation user friendly. Firmware update went smooth.

Cons: The wall wart could use a better design.

Overall Review: I mainly use this as an extension off another router to connect more computers in the house via both ethernet cable and wireless.
