Good and compact
Pros: Well built compared to 4 other Enclosures that I own. At no stage I felt frustrated because of cheap part which was not the case with my previous Enclosures. Inside outer metal case there is plastic tray/chasis, to which PCB is firmly attached. And plastic tray has screws to hold the hard drive.
Cons: None
Overall Review: First eSATA port did not work and sent an email to customer support, they responded the next day, that was good. Before their response, I got to know why it was not working; I had to install driver for JMicron cotroller. I brought 2 Enclosures; one for 320gb Hitachi Travelstar and other for 320gb Seagate, both worked fine on WinXP 64bit.
Soldering is broke
Pros: Even the cheap price does not gain any point for this device. I have purchased better ones for 15$. I would give zero eggs.
Cons: 1) 'SATA data and power port' part does not rest on PCB and could break easily 2) Far end of the case has clipped-wall, without any screws(yes, they wanted to save on this). This clip takes up space, as a result h/d does not go in smoothley. I was forcing the h/d and the soldering that was holding 'SATA data and power port' part broke.
Overall Review: This generation missed industrial revolution. they do not know how to make a box
Drops connection after 6 months
Pros: None.
Cons: I used once. Then it stayed unused for 6months. Then one day I started using and connection kept on dropping. I did disk-scan but that did not help. Then I used Rosewill Enclosure and same disk worked fine. I have 7-8 enclosures from Rosewill. This is my first Sabrent case and not going to recommend to anyone. I am using Elite Book 8570W laptop with Win7.
Overall Review: Connection dropping may corrupt data. So I am not going to risk using this again. Going to dust bin.
Weakest structurally
Pros: Works
Cons: Seems like brittle plastic, may not survive even one fall. I have made few bad purchases like this, and this one enclosure is worst. Cable is so short you have to glue the enclosure to PC. Barely twice the length of enclosure
Overall Review: Save money and buy a metal enclosure and a long cable too. Note you can not swap this cable with any other USB cable because connector is not that popular.
fine
Pros: working after 7years
Cons: some time I feel I/O is slow, especially when copying large files to external HD.
Fantastic
Pros: I installed in 2006 and is still working on Intel/Asus combo. I do not play video games, just regular use.
Cons: Looks good :-)
