Pros: Made an upgrade to the RT-N56U but just couldn't get the wireless signal in my house. After returning that for an RT-N66U however my signal problems have vanished. Amazing throughput on this unit and a vastly superior firmware!
Cons: A few of the controls in the firmware don't function as intended. Publishers lack of language mastery makes the provided assistance unhelpful. With professional translation assistance and firmware tweaks this would go away.
You get what you pay for
Pros: Excellent price and nice design
Cons: Unit died shortly after arrival (~1 month) and cost to return for refund/repair is more than the price to purchase.
Overall Review: Save your cash and get a dependable brand.
Pros: Routing speeds are excellent and the design is slick.
Cons: No wall mount option. Signal is slightly less than a DIR-655 but this unit is more expensive. Poorly translated help screens in the GUI make for a less than helpful assistant.
Finally a BIOS from this Century!
Pros: The new BIOS on these ASUS boards is amazing and well overdue for all motherboard manufacturers! Simple mouse driven set up and it recognizes all attached devices (SATA, USB) with need for driver disks. Even has simple method for downloading BIOS updates before you install your OS. Highly recommend this board! If you're not into overclocking your system, let the Asus wizard do it for you. Simply amazing.
Cons: If you run dual SLI/Crossfire cards the bus slows to 8X, but if you're like me and find a single graphics card sufficient have no fear it runs at 16X the same as the more expensive Sabretooth.
Overall Review: Unless you're running a quad-Crossfire arrangement, this board is for you. Cheaper than the Sabretooth and runs just as fast.
Pros: Runs great on my MSI K9A2 Platinum motherboard. Excellent upgrade from my old AM2 CPU.
Cons: None yet.
Unreliable
Pros: Nice and fast with plenty of good options.
Cons: If you're depending on a RAID to stay safe on this board, you'll be disappointed. I had one of my RAID drives fail which isn't MSI's fault, but there is no RAID rebuild utility available from MSI. MSI tech support's answer was "Sorry, we can't help you on this issue."
Overall Review: Boards may be nice upfront, but don't forget to look at the longterm when you consider what brand to buy.
