Canon CanoScan LiDE210 4800 x 4800dpi 48bit USB Interface Flatbed Scanner

Cons: no cons

P5Q-EM DO with Debian Squeeze

ASUS P5Q-EM DO LGA 775 Intel Q45 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5Q-EM DO LGA 775 Intel Q45 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: I'm using this board on a Debian Squeeze/Sid system, and it works great. You'll need at least linux kernel 2.6.28 for the network card, and X.org 7.4 for the video card. Sound is supported fine out of the box.

Cons: won't boot from ide cdrom

audigy se with debian lenny (linux, alsa)

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card

Pros: I finally decided to upgrade from my classic ISA SB-16 when I wanted to watch dvd's and all the dialog was sounding like the adults in Peanuts. I'm running Debian Lenny on a PIII-600EB with 512MB RAM. The alsa driver for this card works perfectly, and the install was among the easiest I have ever done, in any OS. This new card sounds great, and it even came with a windows driver disc that I can use as a coaster!
