So Far So Good
Pros: Easy to Setup, image quality is OK.
Cons: A bit difficult to focus. DC Power Cable could have been longer. I wanted to mount this over a doorway, using a standard wall outlet. I'll need to make a longer DC cable, but no big deal.
Overall Review: Remember to upgrade the firmware right away. I had no problems using the included software to setup the camera. After removing the network port, camera signed onto WiFi automatically. Unit is a bit bigger than I was expecting
Perfect for my injured wrist
Pros: I've owned several of these Keyboards, and the Comfort Curve 2000. This keyboard is more comfortable to use than the 2000. I use one at work, and one at home on my XP and Linux computer split with a KVM. Never had a problem with that config. I don't use the special keys, just as a keyboard. I don't like using "normal" keyboards anymore
Cons: Keyboard is a bit big. I did have one stop working with no warnings.
Overall Review: I would recommend this to anyone who has pains from using their computer. Keyboard also comes with a plastic insert to tilt the board back to a more "natural" position. I don't use mine, it didn't feel comfortable.
It Works!
Pros: Easy to setup. It took no more than 20 minutes to take it out of the box and get it online. I am actually typing this review up right now via my laptop's WiFi connected to the MBR624GU using an AT&T Sierra Wireless 881U. It supports a bunch of encryption methods - and what else can I say? It works for me! I may actually pick up a second one as a spare.
Cons: Placement of the USB jack is directly below the power input, which is below the WiFi antenna. It would be nice if there was more separation between the three so that I didn't have to angle my Air Card out at a 35deg angle.
Overall Review: Upgrade only to the North America version of the firmware. The "World Wide" version failed on my device
It works
Pros: Charges the battery - got it on sale at NewEgg for $19.99.
Cons: its a little big (but what do you expect, its an extra battery!
Overall Review: Makes the iphone slide across surfaces. It would be nice if there was a "no slip grip" on the back.
$399 Laptop - can't go wrong!
Pros: Great price from NewEgg! Nice sized laptop with nice clear display. I bought this as my first personal laptop (not to be used for work). I liked it for its curved keyboard - all of my desktop keyboards are curved. For the price it is a great entry laptop - but not too entry!
Cons: Keyboard is both stiff and too sensitive. I'm either not pressing keys hard enough, or hitting them too long and I'm getting double entry. It makes logging into Windows a bit of a challenge. No Bluetooth (but you can find aftermarkets on for $24). Oh yah, VISTA can be a con too if you want it to be ;) It seems like the fan keeps cycling on and off. Its one of those things you don't notice...until you do - then it starts to drive me nuts. I wish it had 1 or 2 more USB Ports.
Overall Review: Will be upgrading the HDD from the 160GB it came with. ACER tech support told me that this pc only does 250GB max, but their product support page says it will do a 320GB or higher.. When I asked they said only 250GB. Anyone know if it will go higher?? Also I added 2GB of RAM for $20 (thanks again NewEgg). Looking forward to installing Linux on the 2nd partition on the new HDD and finally learning Linux...
