A Good Product
Pros: This drive does what it's supposed to do, and it's quiet while doing so. Drivers are almost unnecessary as it is a plug and play device (don't know what people are complaining about). Coupled with a top-notch burning suite like Nero, you have full functionality of all hardware features. Everything works like a charm - even Lightscribe.
Cons: Somewhat slow DVD-RAM and DVD-RW burn and erase speeds, and significantly slow CD and DVD rip speeds. Lightscribe is downright sluggish - but who cares about that? Sharpies will do for me! No other complaints.
Overall Review: People complained on various review websites about the slow rip speed being the only knock on this product - and I suppose that's true after using this product. However, I found that this drive easily rips highly damaged CD's and DVD's, unlike my last few drives. The drive has a powerful laser mechanism which is a definite advantage for this purpose. So, I guess the slow rip speed isn't so bad in light of this.
Old School
Pros: Very solid. "Feels good" to type on. Essentially flat. USB and audio ports. Pretty blue LED lights.
Cons: It would be over the top if the USB ports were 2.0.
Overall Review: I think this product is "old school" because before our new-fangled gimmickey era, things were built to last; you could see, touch and feel quality. In that sense, this keyboard is "old school." It is constructed like a tank, and it does what it's supposed to do - perfect performance since they day I got it. Highly recommended!
