Included Short Bracket!!!!!!
Pros: Short bracket made installation very easy. Nice looking card. This card works fine in the x16 PCI-e slot. I had no available x1 slots available. Hope this info is of some help to others.
Cons: None so far. You must use the driver on the disc for Vista 64. Microsoft automatically installs it's driver and their driver fails. Little extra tech skill needed to override the Microsoft driver and use the correct driver found on the included disc.
Overall Review: Very pleased I bought this card. I needed the short bracket, and planned on cutting and bending the tall one. Nice surprise a short bracket was included!!! Thank you TP-Link.
Not made by Samsung
Pros: Inexpensive and arrived safely thanks to excellent packaging from NewEgg.
Cons: I strongly prefer Samsung Spinpoint over Seagate Momentus for personal reasons. The photos in this listing clearly shows a Samsung Spinpoint, Made in Korea. Must be an old photo. The 3 drives I have received since Seagate bought the Samsung division, are Made in China with Seagate Momentus written next to the Samsung Spinpoint name.
Overall Review: It appears that Seagate is relabeling their Momentus drives with the Samsung name. Based on past purchases of notebook drives, Samsung notebook drives were made in Korea, and Seagate drives are made in China. Did Seagate shut down the Samsung manufacturing plants? I don't really care who owns the Korean plant, as long as I'm purchasing Samsung designed, Korean manufactured drives as I am led to believe with this listing. The Key phrase in this listing is "Made in Korea" as printed on the label that's shown.
Nice Camera, Broken USB Cable
Pros: Camera has lots of features and takes good pictures.
Cons: Micro USB cable will not attach to camera. Double the normal force needed and it still fails to go in far enough. This reconditioned unit looks new, but close examination of the cable shows pin damage, probably from first user. Not sure if a generic micro cable will work,or if I need to purchase a Fuji JZ100 cable. I only hope it's just the cable and not the camera port.
Overall Review: I hope a new cable solves my problem. If it doesn't, I will be forced to take the memory card out and attach to my computer directly. Major hassle because the door for the card and battery is pretty weak, and could break off easily from repeated use.
Unreliable
Pros: Good price, nice appearance, energy efficient.
Cons: Worked at 1gigabit for 2 weeks, then began dropping to 100meg. Resetting switch would bring it back up for a while. Seems to run hot and has the kind of smell that occurs when electronic components are overheating. I will move it to a cooler spot and see if that helps.
Overall Review: I use a 50' cat6 cable and only have 4 ports used. Perhaps moving it away from other electronic devices will allow it to run cooler and fix the problem. I will comment again if moving helps.
Dead Fan
Pros: Cheap price. Attractive enclosure, well made hard drive carriers.
Cons: Dead fan, but I can retrofit an outside fan to help cool the drives. I certainly can't recommend this to anyone, let alone resell them to my customers. Setup program failed to work on XP 32 and 64 using Explorer8, but worked OK using Google Chrome. Perhaps Explorer 8 is not new enough.
Overall Review: Time will tell if this NAS holds up with 1TB Seagate drives.
OK when it worked
Pros: Large Capacity, Good Looks
Cons: Stopped working after 3 months. Won't brew or heat. Dripped heavily when filling coffee maker and dripped heavily when pouring coffee, when it worked;
Overall Review: Sorry I bought this. After just 3 months I am back looking for a new coffee maker. Uncertain if it's worth sending this back under warranty. Such a large item will cost to ship.and may not last when fixed.
