Nice Board
Pros: This board is fast, stable and feature rich. I found it easy to install and set up.
Cons: None so far although I have not been able to overclock very far. Could be I need better cooling.
Overall Review: I have noticed others complain that their Nvidia 7600 series cards won't work. I installed an Xfx 7600GT and am not having any issues at all so it is not entirely a compatibility issue with the GPU.
Probably Good Card But not for Me
Pros: This card seems to have a lot of potential but I was disappointed with the performance in Vista X64. It looks Great and sounds good with music.
Cons: I was unable to get DD and DTS to pass through to my Receiver via SPDIF output while playing DVDs. Sorry to say I am returning it and will probably buy another X-Fi now that the drivers and apps work well in Vista.
Overall Review: Never tried the extra software but looks like it would be a nice bonus.
Decent product for the money
Pros: Price, Simplicity and support
Cons: Lackluster instructions and poor design of mode dial.
Overall Review: As others have mentioned, the arrow on the rotary dial is nearly impossible to identify but is actually there. It would have also helped to know that a Safe mode volume requires a lengthy rebuild and verify before you can create your partition and format the drive. If you try to get ahead of the rebuild you will only cause problems for yourself. bottom line, it works as designed but could use some better instructions and labeling.
Easy Setup
Pros: Setup was easy and Synology has great site for support and software/firmware updates. Active Directory Integration. Very flexible media and file sharing features.
Cons: None come to mind.
Overall Review: This is probably overkill for the average consumer but a great product for small business. We used it for our 25 users to place their email archives and personal files to relieve space on our Small business server.
Great Drive but be careful
Pros: very fast drive and good price for the capacity.
Cons: As noted previously, this drive requires a micro sata to sata adapter. It really needs a SATA 6GB controller running it to realize it's potential (which I do). Otherwise it does not perform any better than drives that are less expensive.
Overall Review: Make sure you realize this requires a Micro SATA connector and it is a 1.8" form factor before you buy it. I had no problem making corrections while installing in a desktop. If you are planning to use this in a notebook or netbook you may run into problems installing it unless the notebook specifically supports the 1.8" form factor and Micro SATA connection.
Great Little Receiver
Pros: High Quality Sound, Plenty of HDMI inputs, Nice Looking, Easy to Set Up.
Cons: No SVHS video inputs. (I could have used one for an old laserdisc player. Remember those?) Runs warm but that is on par with Onkyo receivers.
Overall Review: This is a very nice receiver for the price and Newegg has the best deal around. I bought this as a temporary replacement for a Yamaha RX-V1800 that decided not to output HDMI signals anymore. If I get the Yammy fixed I will rotate the 607 to bedroom duty.
