Carrying Bag

Rosewill RX81U-ES-25A 2.5" SATA to USB 2.0 External Enclosure
Rosewill RX81U-ES-25A 2.5" SATA to USB 2.0 External Enclosure

Pros: It's expensive - I got it with free shipping. It's easy to assemble. You press the "plastic" clip on the sides and slide the top and bottom metal covers off the plastic frame, remove the soft styro foam filler, insert the drive and screw it tight, slide the covers back on. I had 2.5" enclosures from other brands. I can only compare this with the ones that I own, this is the best of the bunch... Highly recommended.

Cons: Top and bottom covers are high glossy black. They are finger print magnets - good looking though. The frame is plastic. There is a high probability of breaking the frame if the unit is dropped and it lands sideway.

Overall Review: Did I get a repackage item? The unit came in a shrink wrap "bag" (hand bagged and sealed only one end) instead of the usual product machine shrink wrap. The ?carrying bag? was missing. It's the benefit of a doubt, since I don't know if it was shipped from Rosewill that way - so it's 5 stars.... As it was packaged, there was a piece of soft styro foam filled the drive space within the frame. I cut a sliver of it and wedged the drive to keep it from moving in the frame. Engineering thought: Rosewill offers a SATA and an IDE version. It would be nice if the frame is switchable for IDE and SATA. You can use it with your older IDE drive and later for SATA, presuming the enclosure will outlast the drive.

Most likely no quality control

G.Skill 32GB microSDHC UHS-I/U1 Class 10 Memory Card with Adapter (FF-TSDG32GA-C10)
G.Skill 32GB microSDHC UHS-I/U1 Class 10 Memory Card with Adapter (FF-TSDG32GA-C10)

Pros: Limited life time warranty, my reason for buying. Well known brand, G.Skill memory sticks are in my computers. Price is competitive. It's a flash card, just like any others.

Cons: Poor quality control.... I ordered two, one of the SD adapter was tight... It was difficult to insert and remove the Micro SDHC flash card.... the other one is ok.... it probably costs them more to test the adapters, so most likely there was no quality control testing for them.

Overall Review: Read the reviews and avoid unreliable brands.

TENVIS JPT3815W-HD P2P HD 720P Pan/Tilt Day/Night w/ IR Cut 2-Way Audio Wireless IP Camera
TENVIS JPT3815W-HD P2P HD 720P Pan/Tilt Day/Night w/ IR Cut 2-Way Audio Wireless IP Camera

Pros: Easy setup software makes it simple to install and configure the camera. Connect the camera to the wired network and install the software, the software locates and connections to the camera. It has three (3) video streams. Frame rate up to 30. Resolutions: 1280x720, 640x352 and 320x176. I tested 1280x720 in bright room light and IR off. The video was clear, but not sharp due to noise. Audio format: G711 and G726. The timing capture emailed time snap images to your email account. Beware that your inbox fills up quickly. It has motion detection (see con) and sound detection (see con). Changing light conditions (turn room light on/off) is fast, approximately 1/2 second. Changing light condition (light off) IR on takes approximately 1.5 seconds. You can turn IR light off, but don't expect any discernable image. You need IR for total darkness. Admin web interface supports English, Chinese and Korean menu; 50HZ/60HZ, screen resolutions 1280x720 and 640x352. It support inverted (for mounting upside down) and mirror images. Alarm supports emailing images and uploading to an FTP server. It supports DHCP, HTTP, RTSP, ONVIF, UPnP, P2P, 3rd party (ie. Dyn DNS) and built-in DDNS (Tenvis.org).

Cons: No continuous (automatic) panning. Manual panning has 5 laps maximum then stop. It supports WiFi: It does not allow you to input SSID manually for non-broadcast SSID. You must unhide your network SSID in order to setup your WiFi connection. Sound detection didn't work for me. First, I enabled sound detection with the default sensitivity 50/100. I sat next to the camera and clapped my hands loudly. The, I configured sound detection sensitivity to 0 and it didn't work. Motion detection is limited by four small square zones. Each has its own sensitivity setting (0-100). Motion detection is *NOT* based on the entire viewing area. Unlike the sound detection, motion detection works sometimes. The limitation is 3 snap shots per alarm incident. I didn't know why but on multiple tests, when I walked out of the room the motion detection worked and captured my back. When I walked back into the room, the motion detection didn't work. It fell in the category of, motion detection works part of the time. Active-X (M$-ie Plugin) installation requires a system reboot. The color was off intermittently. When it switches IR on/off, it clicks loud enough to alert intruder of its presence. Remote viewing mobile app requires a Tenvis account. You must login to Tenvis to access your camera. My HooToo camera is directly accessible.

Overall Review: I don’t know if I received a bad unit (see cons). But it's going back for two reasons: (a) defective or did not work as advertised (see con above) and (b) the spec said the model number was IPROBOT3. I researched the model and ordered based on “IPROBOT3” model. The IPROBOT3 has an SD slot. It’s a bad experience. I should have paid attention to the reviews. To NewEgg’s credit, it’s easy return.

Rubber Tip

Rosewill ST-502 - Signature Stylus & Pen for iPad, iPadMini, Nexus, Galaxy Note, & Many Other Tablets and Smartphones
Rosewill ST-502 - Signature Stylus & Pen for iPad, iPadMini, Nexus, Galaxy Note, & Many Other Tablets and Smartphones

Pros: I got it on sale, great price. It's a real pen, writeable one end and the stylus rubber tip at the other end. One stylus is all you need in your pocket. The tip is smaller than fingers so it's great for game aiming on cellphones.

Cons: The rubber tip is a little more difficult to push than the ultra-sensitive capacitive tip stylus for tablets. The ultra-sensitive capacitive is microfiber cloth-life soft. The tip from some other brands are replaceable. It does not look like the tip on this stylus is replaceable.

Overall Review: Don't know if pen refill are available at local retailers.

TOSHIBA 1TB Canvio Slim II Portable External Hard Drive for PCs USB 3.0 Model HDTD210XS3E1 Silver
TOSHIBA 1TB Canvio Slim II Portable External Hard Drive for PCs USB 3.0 Model HDTD210XS3E1 Silver

Pros: Look good with the brushed plastic to look like metal. I prefer Seagate because of too many bad experience with other brand drives (including Toshiba) dying within a couple months of warranty expiration. This Toshiba 3 years vs 2 years warranty for Seagate swayed me. I am glad that I got this drive. It runs cool and quiet. USB 3.0, the drive light color indicates whether it's plugged into USB 3 (blue) or USB 2 (white) port. It survived a three (3) feet hard (yanked it of the cord) drop on a concrete floor (with a thin layer of carpet - office type), nice... great capacity in a small form factor. Buy it....

Cons: None so far. I am curious about the inside. I haven't figured out how to open it up to look inside.

Overall Review: Got it on sale for $60.00. Waiting for another sale to buy more.

Biodegradable

Rosewill RHM-556 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Headset
Rosewill RHM-556 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Headset

Pros: Inexpensive headset. Nicely compactible for storage, but who store their headset anyway. long cord. The mouth piece easily snug to the contour of your face. The foam around the ear piece is soft.

Cons: The protective film covering the foam around the ear piece is made of biodegradable materials, unlike the materials used in more expensive headsets. It breaks down after a year or so, and exposes the foam underneath. It will biodegrade whether you use the headset or not....

Overall Review: Not recommended for long term ownership...
