A Great Deal
Pros: The price is excellent for the storage. This is great if you want to do something like rip your home DVD collection - a terabyte is plenty of room that will last you for a long while.
Cons: You need to buy your own SATA cable - this is OEM so there is no documentation with this, just the drive. This is not a speed drive - You are paying for storage.
Overall Review: Buy a SATA cable. This does not come with any mount screws either, so you might want to consider buying some of those also. I could not boot to XP when I installed this, but I found the problem - my BIOS had the boot first device as my new SATA drive, not my old IDE drive. It was quick fix. If you format this drive in windows, make sure to do a "quick format" or the format will take hours upon hours.
Avatar
Pros: 1.78:1 Aspect ratio. Need I say more? This film doesn't have those notorious black bands at the top and bottom, so it will fill up your entire 1080p screen. Fantatic? I think so. Very crisp movie (in terms of video quality), and spectacular CGI.
Cons: No, this film isn't the best film of the decade, regardless of what you heard. Avatar has an incredibly generic plot.
Pros: Does exactly what it is advertised to do - quickly scanned my books. After the initial lamp warmup, I could scan 311 pages per hour - much higher than any other scanner. Each scan takes about 8 seconds.
Cons: Software is very confusing. I opted to get Acrobat pro instead of the included PDF software.
Overall Review: I scanned a textbook. The best method for me was to make all the pictures in .tif format, and put every image in a folder. Then use acrobat to merge all the images into a single PDF file. The pdf file, after the quick optimization from acrobat, was only about 300mb for a 1000-page book
Great buy!
Pros: It's really small. I actually played around with others Nano's, but I was still very amazed how small this was when I got it. The screen size is very crisp! It has the same resolution as the iPod Classic, but in a much smaller screen size. Watching the Dark Knight on this thing is just fine, though. Getting the Nano in black is a good idea - It is a better color to view the screen against. 16gb is plenty of space for most people.
Cons: iTunes still has it shares of problems. Three of my albums artwork would not transfer to the iPod (even though it was in iTunes), so I had to get different artwork from google and import it in.
Overall Review: It took me two weeks to get this thing - But something wrong with UPS. It took me about two hours to charge this fully before I used it. Oh, and it doesn't come with music quiz! What's up with that?
Great Value!
Pros: Great value, if you're an audiophile. The sound isolation is excellent, and getting a good seal is much easier than I though it would be after just a day or two. The stock tips it came with fit just perfectly for me. The clarity is also amazing! This comes with a set of smaller tips, and foam tips, so you can get the perfect fit. It also comes with an extra set of filters and a filter-removing tool - Very handy to have!
Cons: The headphones are rather expensive if you're just going to do some casual music-listening or anything. You need to replace the filters every six months or so (maybe more or less, depending on the listener), but that is very cheap to do.
Overall Review: I was worried I would not be able to obtain a seal with these headphones. It was rather easy to do. The headphones to take a while to "break in," at least in my experience. After a few hours, though, I was hooked! If you really want great-quality headphones, and don't mind the awkward-looking style of these, this is a great buy!
Most excellent!
Pros: Plays just about every optical format out there. It worked, contrary to other reviewers, with my nForce motherboard. I either have a nforce 430 or 410 motherboard, I'm not sure
Cons: Its too bad I also bought a PCI SATA controller, when it turns out I didn't need one.
Overall Review: Getting this to play blu-rays was a little tricky. The included powerDVD software did not work (v7), but upgrading to v8 did the trick and I watched The Dark Knight in 1080p. Fantastic :D
