Works great in RAID 1
Pros: This is the Barracuda LP (eco-friendly) and it works fine in RAID 1. It is 3gbs but if you're not running a filewrite intensive system, it shouldn't be a problem.
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: Thing I came to learn with HDDs is that if you purchase online, it is very likely to get manhandled during shipping (either from manufacturer to online store OR from online store to you). Save yourself the trouble and go buy it in a store (retail version, not OEM). In my case, the price at store was about $60 less than here at Newegg.
Works well for low-traffic, packet loss for higher
Pros: * Easy to mount/install
Cons: * Causes packet loss when high traffic
Overall Review: I have this switch linking video streaming servers and it locks up as soon as there's high traffic. I have a scheduled download 3 times an hour where traffic increases to 400-500mbps and this switch starts losing it. I am replacing it with a Juniper or Cisco 3560.
It messes up Outlook 2010
Pros: It's system maintenance all-in-one, cleans up and maintains your system for optimal performance. Sure, you can do everything Tuneup does but with many more separate programs (Defragglr, CCleaner, etc.) but it's nice to have a solution that does it automatically at all times.
Cons: It messed up search on Outlook 2010. I use Win7 (64-bit) and Office 2010 and every day or 2 it would erase my search index and I would have to rebuild it in Control Panel constantly. As soon as I removed it, everything went back to normal.
Overall Review: Wish Tuneup would look into this and fix it so I can re-install this pack.
Don't bother
Pros: There is nothing positive about this product. That 1 egg goes to NewEgg for fast delivery. They never let me down.
Cons: Installed it, configured both WANs, it wouldn't work. Connections dropped after 20 seconds of staying online. I checked both connections with 2 laptops directly connected to the incoming cables and they managed to hold a connection for a long time without a problem. The Syswan wouldn't. Tried upgrading to latest firmware, not much help.
Overall Review: I'm RMA'ing this right away. I really really wanted for this to work but I guess most of the times you gotta go with tried&true (talkin about Cisco/Linksys here). Hope this helps someone from wasting time.
