Read up on CPU Cores vs. Dies vs. Logical Processors

AMD Athlon X2 370K - Athlon X2 Richland Dual-Core 4.0 GHz Socket FM2 65W Desktop Processor - AD370KOKHLBOX
AMD Athlon X2 370K - Athlon X2 Richland Dual-Core 4.0 GHz Socket FM2 65W Desktop Processor - AD370KOKHLBOX

Pros: Price vs. Performance. Most games are still more CPU speed dependent than core dependent, so more clock is more important than more cores.

Cons: No integrated GPU for flexibility or possible offloads, though this does save on CPU heat loss for OC. It's not going to win the next DARPA project price for supercomputing by itself.

Overall Review: The reviewer that states this is a single core using hyperthreading needs to read up on his CPU technology a bit better. Not only is that an Intel trick rather than an AMD trick, this cpu is a dual core, single die design with two processors located in the same die envelope. Intel uses a design that allows two pathways for data creating two logical cores for the OS per CPU, not AMD which uses single path in all of their designs (so far). Don't bash if you don't know what you're talking about. This is a real dual core chip, not a single core masquerading as dual through hyperthreading (not that intel does that either).

Saved a bunch of time for a bench style mount.

ALAMENGDA Open Computer Case,Two-way Server ATX Motherboard Tray Test Stand, Test bench, ATX Mid Tower
ALAMENGDA Open Computer Case,Two-way Server ATX Motherboard Tray Test Stand, Test bench, ATX Mid Tower

Pros: Sturdy and easy to put together. Includes everything needed but the screwdriver. (Don't miss the Phillips to Standoff Hex adapter)

Cons: A few rough edges could lead to bleeders but it's not exactly uncommon.

Overall Review: I wanted an open bench case I could also throw in a rack if needed for a full ATX board. Since I was specifically going to use it now for a flash NAS with mining board and a dozen X1 slots, so I wanted a bracket for the cards as well. I was prepared to hack up an old ATX case but that would have taken a couple of hours and been some real work to make sure it was "clean" and roughly presentable. For Under $30, this was a perfect fit and easily justified the cost vs. my time & effort saved. I'm calling it a win and may be buying another because it will also sit nicely on a rack shelf if need and is much, much cheaper than a rack enclosure for systems that are going to be physically accessed frequently (testing, lab, etc.) . Anyway, I'm loving it at the price. If it were higher cost I'd be leery but for the price I bought, it's an easy yes.

Great Quality and Wide Coverage

KUTUMAI Screwdriver Bits Magnetic Portable Case 63 in 1 Set Multifunctional Pocket Mini Repair Tool Kit for Electronics, Tablet, Xiaomi Iphone Computer Tri Wing Torx Screwdrivers Mini Screwdriver
KUTUMAI Screwdriver Bits Magnetic Portable Case 63 in 1 Set Multifunctional Pocket Mini Repair Tool Kit for Electronics, Tablet, Xiaomi Iphone Computer Tri Wing Torx Screwdrivers Mini Screwdriver

Pros: Well made. Great case. Strong magnets for good retention. Excellent for a "Budget" tool price category. Love the magnet retention/eject mechanism of the sleeve. If this exact same setup as aluminum was provided, I'd call it the buy of the year for my everyday bag.

Cons: Build quality isn't quite up to the very top brands like Wera, Wiha, or Klein but more than good enough. Outer case is only plastic but solidly built. We'll see how the plastic sleeve holds up. It's thick but still only plastic.

Overall Review: Not only does this kit include a truly wide range of small bits, it's a very good kit for the price. Yes, I got it on a Black Friday sale but it was still excellent for the price even at normal. The case is solid, well engineered, closes securely, and seems to be durable enough to survive life in my onsite tool bag. Since I'm a network tech "gun for hire", that last bit is very important. My stuff gets toted around so I'm far more impressed with this than others I've tried from larger brands like Craftsman, Kobalt, etc. Yes, Wera, Wiha, Klein, or what have you will be better but cost twice as much or more. If you want a "best performance for a budget" rather than the best available, this is a very solid choice from my initial impressions.

Not spectactularly new anymore but nice for the price

Acer KG271 bmiix 27" Full HD 1920 x 1080 75Hz 1ms HDMI VGA AMD FreeSync ZeroFrame Flicker-Less BlueShield Built-in Speakers LED Backlit LCD Gaming Monitor
Acer KG271 bmiix 27" Full HD 1920 x 1080 75Hz 1ms HDMI VGA AMD FreeSync ZeroFrame Flicker-Less BlueShield Built-in Speakers LED Backlit LCD Gaming Monitor

Pros: I've been using the KG271 since August of 2018 and It's been solid. Performance is good, on angle and off angle viewing are fine. Brightness is never a problem even when I'm in a bright room or fighting sunlight from the west facing window directly behind me. I don't even have an AMD Freesync video card and I'm still quite happy.

Cons: None so far of any worth. Like most modern screens, it's a bit sensitive to oils on the screen and difficult to clean but that's pretty much everything in available today.

Overall Review: If I had room for a second monitor, I'd be buying another one...

Excellent Performance & Small Size

Arctic Coooling S113BT Portable Bluetooth Speaker-White
Arctic Coooling S113BT Portable Bluetooth Speaker-White

Pros: Paired easily, aptX Support, BT 4.0, seems like decent manufacturing quality, attention to detail befits a much higher product that I paid in Mid 2015 (around a Jackson), rubber outer casing should be drop tolerant, little touches like an included bag. Sound quality is excellent, on par with my friend's expensive Jawbone Jambox Mini which was over $100 a couple of years ago to my knowledge.

Cons: Not enough time to comment on longterm durability or battery life. Decent volume and reasonable bass for a tiny device but don't expect to shatter your eardrums. Not waterproof but for the price, who cares?

Overall Review: I'm an audio nut from way back. My expectations for Jackson's worth of product were not all that high even with the BT 4.0 & aptX support but I was duly impressed with this little box. It's so very close in performance, though not general aesthetics, to my friend's unit that cost more than 5X what I paid that I'm really thrilled if it lasts for a year or more while battery life continues to be more than a couple of hours. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive BT box. For reference, I also just bought my 75 year old father a box (Ematic) for a few dollars cheaper at the local west coast electronics chain and this just blows it's doors off for sound quality and volume while being physically smaller. I haven't used an SPL meter but by ear it sounds like it's normative output down to around 150Hz or so and it actually still makes some output at around 100Hz which is really good for a box the size of a 12oz. soda bottle. Really, for anything less than $40, this is a steal.

Good board for the price.

ASRock FM2A78 PRO3+ FM2+ / FM2 AMD A78 FCH (Bolton-D3) USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
ASRock FM2A78 PRO3+ FM2+ / FM2 AMD A78 FCH (Bolton-D3) USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Has been very stable through stress testing (ran a few days of memtest86 and then went for a solid shot at mprime for a few days). The VRMs get a bit hot if you're using a pillar style cooler like the CM Hyper series, so a fan to blow on the medium adequate heatsink by the CPU socket might be in order. The physical layout is less than perfect but it's not terrible. 4 RAM slots are nice in this price range and the hardware does not seem to be low quality. Full ATX layout makes it easier to fit everything needed for future expansion including PCI and PCIe slots, memory, lots of fan connectors, etc. BIOS is reasonably well documented and logically laid out.

Cons: I'd trade one of the X1 slots at the top to the bottom very quickly, even for a PCI slot, all to gain clearance for a two slot card in the bottom slot (for a retired primary to do PhysX). The PCB is a bit thin and flexible but that's to be expected in this price range, tread carefully.

Overall Review: This is replacing a nearly 10 year old ASRock NVidia based AM2 board that has seen a lot of hard use (temps, overclocking, lots of hardware connected & disconnected, etc.), so I've got reasonably high expectations of this board. That said, it looks to meet them. I'll update if I have any major problems inside the first year but I'd recommend this if you are looking at a tight budget build for a FULL ATX case (Full/Mid/Mini Tower or Desktop) and want lots of expansion at a very reasonable price. I'm running a 760K on it for reference and will be connecting lots of drives and a 550TI as well as an eventual 4 sticks of RAM.
