I wish I had my ram

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin PC RAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-16GXM
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin PC RAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-16GXM

Pros: Cool blue look, matches my ASUS motherboard 9-9-9-24 1.5v matches my stock settings to preform better. Even though I can't set XMP settings for 1600 because of my motherboard BIOS I love the way this RAM looks in my machine instead of those ugly green sticks that didn't match anything in my case, especially with the new GTX 1060 lighting up the case.

Cons: A little large, I would have to reposition my HDD to add 2 more and fill all 4 slots (I could use a larger case anyways)

Overall Review: I didn't actually open the BIOS and look to see if it's running at 1600, I'll do that now. Update: My pre-built ASUS does not have the AI Tweak setting in BIOS (the tab isn't there) so I can not run this ram at 1600. (The ram that came with the computer was 1600 and I can't even set it to it...) LOL, live and learn but I have some great RAM once I buy a new motherboard and processor.

ThinkCentre Desktop PC M52 2.80GHz 2GB 80GB HDD Windows 10 Home 64-Bit

Pros: Cheap as dirt, came loaded with nothing thank the lord and savior.

Cons: Arrived with broken keyboard and the CD/DVD tray would not open or close...

Overall Review: For $100 I'm not upset if I can get my programs to load I'll keep it without asking for another.

EFF WINDOWS 10! WHY CAN'T I ROLL BACK TO WINDOWS 7?!?!

Windows 10 Home - Full Version (32 & 64-bit) / USB Flash Drive
Windows 10 Home - Full Version (32 & 64-bit) / USB Flash Drive

Pros: UPDATE: April 25, 2017 Windows 10 still going strong and bugs are heavy, even the time is wrong now. Going from Windows 7 the transition isn't too hard I was able to turn the windows login off, since it's a home computer I want to hit the power button walk away for a drink, come back and be ready to play.

Cons: I wish I could remove the last egg, WINDOWS 10 HAS RUINED MY GAMING EXPERIENCE! September 15, 2016 critical update for your computer RUINS Controller Companion, at first I thought it fixed it, because it brought back the cool windows 7 layout.... A button for right click not right trigger. Then I tried to play a game, can't because the joystick that moves the character forward is also moving the mouse pointer forward, even though I'm only using the controller. The Witcher 3 can't even be played, I want a refund, oh wait it's Microsoft, looks like this is going to be over $200 wasted. I'll have to go buy Windows 7 OS because this software doesn't even let you turn it into windows 7 after you find out how inferior it is. 1 more egg removed for not allowing me to curse and vent my frustration at Microsoft to Microsoft. Everytime I come back to this page it loses an Egg. speaker configuration has LEFT THE OPERATING SYSTEM! My systems requires me to place the front left speaker in the right position and front right speaker in the left position because the cables are different and I could only extend the length of 1 speaker. Now I have backwards audio, this used to be a simple fix in the operating system. Now it seems like they trimmed that from the operating system. Get rid of the sleep feature from Windows I'll be happy, EFF YOU WINDOWS FOR TAKING AWAY MY SPEAKER CONFIGURATION! Update: Videogame Warcraft 3 has frozen mid game and ctrl+del took a long time to respond, and still didn't respond well. External Hard Drive formatted as Fat32 so I can read it on my Xbox 360 is not recognized on this PC now. I want to watch a movie on my computer not on my Xbox and Windows 10 does not display the drive, all I can view are the properties and it says: This device is working properly. Windows Experience Index took me watching a youtube video twice. Running shell:Games didn't have my computer rated yet so had to go into cmd (command prompt) and run a winsat final. It's an App layout now... I miss All Programs not a fan of clicking All apps, the games tab is gone! I want minesweeper under All Programs > Games.

Overall Review: As a frustrated buyer who had to buy a new OS, I think I'll be downgrading this back to windows 7. Running: Gigabyte Mobo GA-970A-UD3P, with FX-8350 processor (cooler master evo 212 for the fan), GTX 1060 gaming x, with 16gb of gksill ddr3 1600mhz, all fit inside the Rosewill Challenger with their 650w modular powersupply. Rumor I read was Windows 7 won't be getting Direct X 12 but Windows 10 will... Not many games out yet with Directx 12 to do performance tests, but new games are released all the time and classics get remastered to utilize better graphics engines so I'm glad to be running windows 10 with directx 12.

CHEAP!

Noctua NT-H1 3.5g, Pro-Grade Thermal Compound Paste (3.5g)
Noctua NT-H1 3.5g, Pro-Grade Thermal Compound Paste (3.5g)

Pros: This was around $6 with free shipping! NT-H1 Thermal Compound is supposed to be non conductive, so if you drop too large of a dab on your processor and it bleeds over on to your motherboard it won't fry it. Perfect for a messy guy like myself!

Cons: Slower shipping than my other site

Overall Review: So I was a little messy, thankfully wiping it off with a paper towel and never caused any issues, computer has the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo (which barely fit in my case) but I never have any heat issues, keeping under 60°C under high graphic long duration modes with my FX-8350 & GTX 1060. I find I have more problems with Windows 10 than I've had with 7.

Easy to use

Rosewill CHALLENGER ATX Mid-Tower Gaming PC Computer Case, Expansion Ready: Internal 3.5" Bays & External 5.25" Bays, 3 Pre-installed Fans with Side Fan Mount Option
Rosewill CHALLENGER ATX Mid-Tower Gaming PC Computer Case, Expansion Ready: Internal 3.5" Bays & External 5.25" Bays, 3 Pre-installed Fans with Side Fan Mount Option

Pros: CHEAP! GTX 1060 fits (very little room to spare, thankfully I ran my 24pin motherboard connection through the back of the case) plenty of width room for the graphics card, but length is very close to the bay drives... Tons of fans to keep it cool Master cooler 212 evo DOES technically fit, but before I put the side of the case on I plan to hammer out the side to prevent the copper heat sink pipes from touching the side.

Cons: I wish it was a little wider, lost an egg because I'm afraid the Evo 212 won't fit. I can push the side of the case in and it touches the Master Cooler Evo 212 cpu fan. . . I did pay extra for NON Conductive thermal paste so I'm going to put the side of the case on and give it a go. Better cable management (hole in the top left for 8pin motherboard power, I am currently unable to run it behind, it runs across my massive graphics card)

Overall Review: Gigabyte Mobo GA-970A-UD3P, with FX-8350 processor (cooler master evo 212 for the fan), GTX 1060 gaming x, with 16gb of gksill ddr3 1600mhz, all fit inside the Rosewill Challenger with their 650w modular, using 480gb SSD (trying to upgrade it), powersupply. Yes it's a little tight, but for building a pretty sweet gaming machine on a budget I'm pleased. Of course I wanted the $360 i7 processor but the $160 AMD FX-8350 will suite me just fine. I found 3 other cases wider 1-2 inches, all would have cost me twice as much. MAKE SURE YOU CLICK THE USB 3.0! I forgot and have 10 USB ports already on my motherboard, 8 of which are USB 2.0... Now 2 more on the front are. (My corsair keyboard takes up 2 USB 2.0 ports or 1 3.0...) I didn't actually hammer the side panel of the case out. The cooler is very close to touching, but not all of it is on the mesh area, I'd have to pound the flat metal at the top too. The cooler does NOT touch, and I read on Tomshardware.com someone said the copper heat sink could touch the case and not harm anything, it has a ground wire from the fan, I'm not sure how true this is, but it has left me with a smooth sided case. Computers been on and stable for 24 hours so I'll turn it off then move it to a more permanent location.

CASE ROSEWILL|CHALLENGER RT Configurator
CASE ROSEWILL|CHALLENGER RT Configurator

Pros: I paid $40 Wide enough for my GTX 1060, my old case did fit it, but it was so tight I feared poor circulation with a potential heat build up. Mesh Vents all the way around (front CD player, Floppy disk player and rear slots all removable grated for air flow)

Cons: Still waiting for my new motherboard No see through side, my GTX 1060 has RGB color scheme that's dying to scream I'm sexy! The screens behind my floppy drive and front fan were a little large... Additional info in other

Overall Review: cont from cons: OK to be clear, there is a mesh plate with a screen attached, the screen was probably cut to the exact size of the unit forgetting the plastic molding takes up a small amount all the way around inside, I just so happen to have some tin snips handy (scissors would have worked) so I cut a very small amount off 1 end of each Floppy disk screen, then removed the same amount from around both sides and bottom of the front fan screen (the screen wouldn't remove entirely, probably attached at the top) so that being a DIY fix which cost me no money and wasted very little time I left the review 5 eggs. Most people wouldn't have cared or bothered, since I'm extra picky and I'm waiting 2 more days on the motherboard I couldn't sit here with that bothering me since I do have the sides off, power supply in, mounting pins in place, SSD formatted and mounted, & wires draped over the sides so I have room to install the mobo! Oh and the front plate is still off because I don't have the DVD burner in yet, since I can't scrap this computer for its SATA burner.
