Awesome, more powerful than expected
Pros: Very nice UEFI interface Able to change memory voltages, speeds to accommodate faster timings or higher MHz/voltage Multiple settings for optimization inside EFI for CPU, fans etc Super low power consumption (25w) PCI x16 Two Sata 6G USB3 Two PCIe ports Supports VI Supports 32GB RAM HMDI out
Cons: It's getting tricky to find this APU, and ECS stopped making this board :(
Overall Review: Really a very nice combo for the money. The board is loaded with a lot of features and has a solid APU from AMD (I'm an Intel bulder at heart, but you can't find these specs with Intel ITX for under $300). I'm running this board in a SteamO box with no additional GPU and, with some tweaking, have been able to run many games at 30-40 FPS on good settings without turning this into a 100 degree C oven.
It comes apart, guys
Pros: 3-piece filter that comes apart for cleaning Good quality, sturdy construction Looks nice for external intake, covers the screws
Cons: Will severely hinder airflow on a lower CFM fan (< 22 CFM), just keep this in mind.
Overall Review: The filter comes apart, the two plastic pieces clip together with the foam in the middle. You need to take it apart, mount the grill with the screw holes onto your fan, then place the filter and clip the top grill on. Looks cool with an LED fan or an internal light source.
Nice power for the price
Pros: 20/24 pin connector Additional 4 pin connector 2 Molex power 2 Sata power Fan is quiet for the size Runs at reasonable temps
Cons: none
Overall Review: Built into a customized mini ITX build; I'm utilizing at most 70-80w under full load so the 250w is really overkill. The case is easy to dismantle if you're looking to reclaim a little headroom inside you build and you know what you're doing.
Good cable, bad consumers
Pros: Supports 1080p and 4K A/V quality is perfect
Cons: none
Overall Review: I see so many negative reviews here that revolve around either a cable that is obviously bad, or something about the construction of these. The issue really seems to be that people don't know what they're buying. If you're buying an $8 cable, you cannot expect it to physically look and feel like a $40 cable. Plain and simple. These cables are constructed fine, not falling apart, connectors seem solid and seat well etc. Does it look as pretty as a monster cable and have nice quarter inch shielding and hefty connectors etc? No, because it's a budget cable. It's like buying a Kia and being mad that it doesn't look and feel like an Audi. When you buy a budget cable, you have to be prepared for the fact that QA is likely a bit lower and you may, in fact, get a bunk cable now and then. This is what RMA processes are for, and it makes no sense to plug the cable in, see that it's broken, and immediately come here and post a negative review without even trying to remedy the situation first. Newegg is great about handling RMAs or offering replacements, especially on things like this that cost them so little to replace even for free. The manufacturers here are generally willing to help too, provided you give them a chance.
Like radioactive MTN Dew (so, Surge)
Pros: Intense, bright emerald green Decent quality housing, no loose LEDs Seriously green Good cable length, 4-pin molex connector and extender Seriously green Comes with two 3M foam tape pads Like a lightsaber in my eyes
Cons: I am now blind because I stared directly into the LEDs for three days straight and my eyes turned into glowsticks and my skull is now haunted
Overall Review: These are awesome, I can't see needing more than two to make your case glow like comic book nuclear waste. Would work very well in an NVidia-themed build. On a serious note it would be cool if the casing also came in black instead of the chromed plastic color, but realistically you'll probably hide the casing completely when installing anyway.
Solid
Pros: Solid, sturdy feel Nice quality black coating, no scratches Fits 80mm fans perfectly as advertised
Cons: none
Overall Review: Using these on a couple of clear 80mm Antec fans I'm building into a case with green LEDs, the black and green combo looks rad as h*ck.
The wrong way to do business
Found out weeks after placing the order and a dozen emails begging for any info such as tracking which I never received, that the order never even shipped and there was no ETA. Newegg was great in trying to handle it, but this seller is horrible and I will never do business through them again.
