Fast and Quiet

Seagate Momentus 5400.3 ST9160821A 160GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 / ATA-6 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Momentus 5400.3 ST9160821A 160GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 / ATA-6 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Seems pretty fast; biggest thing I noticed is how quiet it is, I have to put my ear right up to my laptop to hear any disk activity.

Cons: Replacing the hard drive in my PowerBook was a pain.

Overall Review: Works great in my PowerBook G4 Alum. 15" (pre-high-res).

Most Critical Review

Not very ergonomic

RAZER Copperhead RZ01-00050300-R1M1 Chaos Green 7 Buttons 1 x Wheel Gold plated USB Wired Laser Engine 2000 dpi Gaming Mouse
RAZER Copperhead RZ01-00050300-R1M1 Chaos Green 7 Buttons 1 x Wheel Gold plated USB Wired Laser Engine 2000 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: Very nice looking mouse, love the lit scroll wheel; Contrary to others I think this mouse is small and therefore easy to manuever.

Cons: The left and right buttons take up half the mouse, so you have to let your hand rest on them. However the right click button is way too sensitive, I end up clicking it on accident every couple minutes. My hand also starts hurting after just an hour of using it, I think because I can't rest my hand at all while using it.

Overall Review: The inverted shape towards the bottom makes it easy to grab and handle; the weight is perfect.

Not bootable on USB2 Macs

Mushkin Enhanced Ventura Plus 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model MKNUFDVS64GB
Mushkin Enhanced Ventura Plus 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model MKNUFDVS64GB

Pros: Super fast; very nice all metal design; compact

Cons: Not bootable on my older Macs with USB2. It will now be collecting dust in a drawer until I can upgrade to a modern machine with USB3.

Great quality-worth the price

MXL AC-404 Black USB Connector USB-Powered Microphone
MXL AC-404 Black USB Connector USB-Powered Microphone

Pros: This has a nice quality, chunky, heavy all-metal construction. Using it on a Macbook Air for all the various video chat applications and works superb. I used to have the input volume cranked all the way up and people could still barely hear me and words would be garbled. With this mic the input volume is barley halfway turned up and people say it's like being in the same room it's so clear.

Cons: I need to pull it out and connect it to my laptop for video chats. I also have to be more careful about what I fiddle with or do off-screen while video chatting, since people can hear EVERYTHING that happens around me now, like planes flying overhead or dogs barking next door.

Overall Review: It came shipped in a bubble-wrap envelope instead of a box. The mic box was all crushed to smithereens and the plastic bag the mic was in was pressed so hard against the mic it was shredding against the top grating. When I pulled the mic out there wasn't a scratch or dent on it, that's how durable it is.

Let down by cheap screws

SilverStone FP55B Aluminum Front Panel 5.25" to 3.5" Drive Bay Bracket
SilverStone FP55B Aluminum Front Panel 5.25" to 3.5" Drive Bay Bracket

Pros: These are nice chunky all-metal adapters. The front textured metal face-plate is secured by screws so you can easily remove it for fitment, since it protrudes beyond the sides slightly. It's also great to have the option of using it for both 2.5" and 3.5" drives. I'm using a pair of these in the optical bays of a Mac Pro and they work great.

Cons: The screws. Really. These come with the cheapest screws I've ever come across for anything. They take the form of a screw, they will fit on the end of a screwdriver, they are even a bit shiny like a screw. But just using my finger-tip and thumb-tip on the screwdriver to tighten them and they strip out. It also seems like an oversight to not have a rubber grommet system for vibration dampening when the rest is so nice.

Overall Review: Like others have mentioned applying the screws for a 3.5" drive is a bit tricky. I found it pretty easy to do once I dipped the tip of my screwdriver into some rubber cement to hold the screw on, then navigate Operation-like into the adapter.

Does not work as advertised

Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac
Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac

Pros: Works extremely good in low light levels; no drivers required.

Cons: Logitech claims this is a Mac compatible 2MP camera, however the most you can pull off off it is 640x480 in iChat, Photobooth, Quicktime player and a couple other tested programs; if you use it in any other program (like Evocam) the most it can do is a pathetic 320x240. When my computer goes to sleep it also completely loses the camera, only option after its waked up is to disconnect and reconnect the camera, making it useless for my needs.

Overall Review: Tested on a Nehalem 2.6 Quad Mac Pro
