Quicker boot times
Pros: With a clean install of Win10 this makes my Dell notebook (Core i7, 8 GB) boot in half the time it previously did.
Cons: No problems so far, and I don't anticipate that there will be any.
Overall Review: It's possible that some of my boot improvements are due to the clean install instead of the Win10 upgrade on top of Win7, but I'm sure that's only a part of the improvement. I'm very happy with the overall performance and the drive itself.
Two drives DOA
Pros: Good price for big drives (about $50/ TB) if they worked.
Cons: Ordered two of these for use with a Sans Digital RAID box, both drives arrived DOA. Power lamp barely pulses with either or both drives installed. Same behavior when I put each into an external USB box.
Overall Review: Chose these over another model with poorer reviews. Maybe Samsung went through a bad streak before selling out to Seagate? Picked up a pair of Seagate 3 TB drives instead, worked perfectly on the first try.
Quick and lightweight
Pros: Bright screen, good resolution, powerful processor. Setup was easy, as it was NOT loaded with bloatware.
Cons: First one arrived with a non-working battery, but Newegg was quick to exchange. No numeric keypad, but that's common with smaller notebooks.
Overall Review: A fine machine for all but the heaviest-duty work.
Headworn Mic
Pros: Fits virtually any head very well. Comfortable and easy to use for extended periods. Stays in position well. Reversible to place mic on left or right side of head. Mic is easily positioned.
Cons: Larger than acceptable noise floor, with much hiss.
Overall Review: We bought this to replace a headworn mic that only fit on one ear. That one frequently came loose while being used. This one stays in place very nicely since it hooks to both ears, but the noise floor is not acceptable. We've now mounted our old mic to the frame of this one, hopefully solving all the problems.
Nice, but frustrating
Pros: Small, very light weight, somewhat customizable with available software from Logitech, good battery life.
Cons: Although their software promises that the F keys can ALL be modified or even returned to the normal F key functions, this isn't currently true. F10, F11 and F12 are permanently assigned as media controls for back, play/pause and forward, respectively. So if your software uses those F keys, you may be somewhat frustrated. I frequently switch between normal and full-screen in IE with the F11 key, but with this keyboard I must add the FN key with my other hand. I also have other software that uses F11, so this might bug me more than other folks. Also, even though it's illuminated very nicely, only those reassigned labels light up on the F keys. The F1 - F12 labels are added in an orange color which is invisible without direct light shining on the keyboard, and even then don't stand out at all.
Overall Review: People have been complaining to Logitech about these types of changes since they brought out their first Illuminated Keyboard, but they don't seem to listen at all. They do make occasional, seemingly random, changes. For example, this one has reassigned the F8 key to open IE to your home page. Their other illuminated keyboards have reassigned F1. Changing from one to another only leads to problems.
We'll see...
Pros: Spun up right away
Cons: Bearing noise was immediately extreme; much louder than the six-year-old fan (which ran 24/7) it was to replace! Have RMA'd and hopefully will get back one which is as quiet as other reviews implied.
Overall Review: This sounded like a very old sleeve bearing. It was among the loudest fan bearings I've ever heard, and was the first NEW fan I've bought ANYWHERE with nasty bearing noise.
Bad shipping
When I received an email that the item had been delivered I went to my door, but no box. I looked at the tracking info and discovered that it had been shipped to a different address in another state, halfway across the country. When I contacted them I was told: "We are so sorry that this item you bought is out of stock now. After contacting with our supplier urgently, they informed us that the item is unexpectedly discontinued and it will not be available again in the near future. We can only a refund to you. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please accept our apologies and regret." It's been two weeks, and I'm still waiting for my refund. I've been using their RAID boxes for years, and this is the first problem I've had with the company.
Excellent service!
Bought four batteries for my church's audio system. They had a better price than others, and shipped very quickly. I have no complaints of any kind.
Excellent company!
The hardware works exactly as advertised, was easy to mount and works perfectly for my needs. Shipping was quick and I was kept up-to-date via email as the sale progressed. I have no complaints of any kind.
