Does everything you would need

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

Pros: Fast, affordable, reliable and (now) stable (see other thoughts). A snazzy casing that looks good in my build.

Cons: Didn't come with maid service.

Overall Review: I bought this pair to boost the memory in my now-three-year-old home build with an i7 chip and the (then new) P55-UD3 Gigabyte MB. I was originally having problems running four sticks of memory in this machine, so I RMA'ed a pair and never bought another set due to time. Now, this past week, I was switching over to a Crucial MX100 512GB SSD drive and I needed a 2.5" tray for my HD cage, I ordered through Newegg and decided to give the memory another try. This time, though, I emailed GSkill tech support while the memory was en route. I explained my situation of BSODs and lock-ups when installing four sticks and they recommended the manually setting the RAM to DDR3-1333, timing settings of 8-8-8-24, and 1.50v. Memory came, installed, changed the settings as recommended and it's been smooth sailing ever since. I instantly noticed a difference running business and entertainment apps in Windows 7. Plus, it used to take my PC 4-5 minutes to boot all the way in, now it had dropped to about 2 minutes. As a side note, I thought that was fast until I put in the Crucial SSD - now I boot to my desktop in about 45 seconds. All in all, I'm extremely happy with GSkill, it has been in every one of my home builds and now, tech support can be added to that list of 'likes'. They answered my email within 4 hours of receipt. Would recommend to others without hesitation.

First One Going Back

Logitech Tablet Keyboard 920-003390 Black Bluetooth Wireless Standard Keyboard
Logitech Tablet Keyboard 920-003390 Black Bluetooth Wireless Standard Keyboard

Pros: Great design, android specific keys, carrying case that turns into a stand, sleek, not cheaply made. The keys felt legit under my fingers - good response, too.

Cons: Purchased this as a Christmas gift for my wife and I sync'ed it to her tablet on Christmas day, but she did not use it until last week. That's when we discovered there were three dead keys on the keyboard - 'S', 'N', and 'M'. Since the unit was out of warranty through Newegg, I had to go directly to Logitech. Submitted a request via their ticketing system on 1/26/13 with the promise of 48-hour turnaround, but I just heard back from them on 2/3/13 (grabbing my calculator). Hmm, not the most speedy response, but okay, at least they replied. I'll update my review after the issue is resolved.

Overall Review: I've never had a problem with Logitech equipment before. I have a Squeezebox and countless wired and wireless keyboards and mice (mouses, mices). I'm going to assume this was a fluke.

Did Exactly What I Wanted

ZyXEL Powerline AV 500 Mbps Starter Kit 2 Units PLA4215KIT
ZyXEL Powerline AV 500 Mbps Starter Kit 2 Units PLA4215KIT

Pros: Quick and easy setup, included software was not necessary. It just plain ole works! Period

Cons: None so far

Overall Review: For me, the supplied software utility wasn't really necessary. With it, you can ID boxes on the network that are Powerline along with their MAC addresses, you can also get transmit rates and change the name of the powerline network that is generated when two of these things are plugged in. You can also password encrypt the data buzzing around your electrical circuit, but, for me, there's really no need for that. Also, the Firmware tab in the software simply leads to their website. Kit was purchased to supply my bedroom with "wired" connectivity for my Roku which choked on the mediocre wireless signal in the house. Roku sleeps, wakes up, and nary a missed step. Connection is instant and full throttled - all movies and streaming content play without a hiccup. Utility shows 22Mbps out and 35Mbps in, but I haven't really tested it because...well, because it's working for me. Would definitely (and already have) recommend to others.

Simple Fun

Scrabble Flash Game
Scrabble Flash Game

Pros: Purchased Scrabble Flash as a stocking stuffer for Christmas and it was a total hit at Christmas and New Years dinner. Challenging, simple, fun - I definitely recommend this item.

Cons: Sometimes the blocks get tripped up while trying to communicate with one another resulting in the scrabble version of BSOD (lock up) It happens most often while you're holding a block in your hand, trying to make that last word before the timer runs out. When it happens, the only way to re-sync is to power cycle (at least for me). Not a big enough issue to knock off an egg, just be patient when the game ends and wait for the totals.

Overall Review: Oh, Newegg....I love you.

Quick Setup - Reliable Connection

EnGenius ERB9250 Wireless N Range Extender
EnGenius ERB9250 Wireless N Range Extender

Pros: Easy set up out of the box, uses the same network name as my main wireless network, not one problem since installing (knock on wood, two weeks into it).

Cons: none so far

Overall Review: I purchased this item to extend my wireless connection to the back part of the house since my modem is in the game room. Back of the house is where we do a majority of our wireless networking, two laptops, one desktop, two android tablets, two Nooks, four phones, a Roku, and a Logitech Squeezebox. On a normal night, five or six of those devices are running. We can watch an HD movie on Roku without a skip or jump while the kids are watching Netflix.

EDIMAX EW-7128G Wireless Card IEEE 802.11b/g PCI Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates
EDIMAX EW-7128G Wireless Card IEEE 802.11b/g PCI Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Price

Cons: Price :-)

Overall Review: This marks the first bad review I've had to give a product on Newegg. Working on a PC for a "friend of a friend" and I ordered this card based on the sheer number of reviews mixed with a good rating (4 eggs). I worked over 2 hours on something that should take no more than 5 minutes from installation to connectivity. Card refused to work in "base mode". Finally, I cut my losses and tried to install it a fresh machine, newer MB, etc. The card was dead there, as well. RMA'ing this device, and unfortunately, there will not be a next time. I was forced to shop locally in an effort to get this machine back out the door. Edimax made me look bad and I will remember that in the future.
