1 out of 5 eggsWhy.....just.........why?

Pros: for systems that only support rdram, this is the way to go, even though rdram was horribly ill-conceived. socket 423 was the biggest joke intel ever put out, if you think it is awesome, you are wrong

Cons: it must run in pairs, and all memory banks must be occupied, so if you order 2 or 4 sticks, you have spent enough money to buy a new motherboard, cpu, ram, etc that would blow away any system that ever used why would you buy it?

Other Thoughts: don't do it

5 out of 5 eggsRDRAM YEA!!!

Pros: FAST, Reliable, Consistent Performance. Easily Installed/Upgrade. Price is the best on the web, Newegg comes through again!!!

Cons: None. Though some people who dont realize why they would want RDRAM over your mainstream memory configurations would tell you otherwise.

Other Thoughts: Be sure that you understand what RDRAM is and that your system is capable of supporting it. RDRAM doesn't happen by accident and there is a reason it costs more than Plain-Jane RAM. So be sure you know what you are buying before you buy it. I hear people from time to time complain that they bought RDRAM because it is the best and then realize their system doesn't support it.

5 out of 5 eggsExpensive but Good

Pros: Faster than what I had, easy to install, cheaper here than other places, quick delivery

Cons: RDRAM is expensive by nature :(

Other Thoughts: I searched all over the web looking for the lowest price for 2x 512mb RDRAM to upgrade my Dell Dimension 8200. I almost paid $xxx somewhere else, but when this became available after being out of stock, I jumped on it, paying about $xxx after shipping, etc. Not only was it the cheapest memory I had been able to find, but Newegg lived up to its good reputation - it shipped very quickly and works perfectly in my computer!

5 out of 5 eggsthink of an alternative

Pros: Great speed for it's release year, nothing special now though.

Cons: Expensive as all hell.

Other Thoughts: Here's what I really wanted to say: If you are considering buying more of this RAM, don't. Go buy a C2D, new motherboard, and 2GB DDR2. Buy it here at newegg, you'll find you spent about the same amount of money. This is my conundrum. RDRAM was not the way to go, even for how fast it is/was.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks just like I hoped.

Pros: It provides the extra room you need for those big programs, very useful if you're running any synthesizing programs like myself. Now my computer can run it's fastest with out any worries. Very easy to install. Just pop open your case, take out the continuity RIMM and put it in, and works instantly. Probably the cheapest you'll be able to find it.

Cons: It's RDRAM, so it is expensive, and very limited in what sizes it comes in (ie, WHERES THE 1GB!?!).

Other Thoughts: Depending on your uses and what's already on your computer (I have to many files that I don't want to transfer to a new computer), it may just be easier to buy a whole new computer that has DDR RAM since upgrading DDR RAM is cheaper and they come in nicer sizes, plus they're faster.

We can only hope that Rambus will make the XDR RAM backwords compatible for RDRAM users.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: If you have a system requiring RDRAM these 512MB Modules are the way to go. It was quick and easy to install plus I immediately noticed a huge increase in my systems performance especially when multitasking. I purchase 2 256MB modules from newegg about 6 months ago and they haven't given me the slightest hint of trouble, I expect nothing less from Samsung RDRAM. Newegg also has the ABSOLUTE BEST PRICE, for QUALITY RDRAM, I've searched a lot.

Cons: RDRAM is expensive compared to other RAM.

Other Thoughts: I've had 2 shopping experiences with newegg and both have been exceptional. Both times my orders shipped within 24 hours, and fedex had it to me next business day when I paid for 3 day shipping. Other shippers I've used have actually held my packages at their facility (5 miles from my house) for 3 DAYS until the due date, FedEx just delivered it early. In My Opinion, when it comes to buying computer parts and supplies, it's absolutely foolish to buy from somewhere other than newegg, and absolutely foolish to not use FedExfor shipping.

1 out of 5 eggsNooooooooooo

Pros: I suppose lifetime warranty is good... for around $4XX

Cons: If you have an intel board that only uses this kind of RAM (as my dad does and that's how I found this) it's cheaper to buy a new motherboard, new RAM, new case, new heatsink, and a simple case fan, then to buy even ONE of these sticks. And what's worse is you have to run these in PAIRS. That means you have to buy two.

Other Thoughts: I'm hoping someone reads this instead of paying a heapload of money on this.

5 out of 5 eggsNewegg is the online pc store!!!

Comments: Newegg made my upgrade so easy. I purchased 2 of these 512mb sticks of ram, which Newegg has the cheapest price, believe me I searched everywhere to find it. I put my order in late Monday 13th and By early Weds 15th I had my RDRAM and had it installed within minutes. Now I have 1.25 gig of RDRAM and my pc is playing my favorite game LOMAC/FC1.1without even a hint of stuttering.

Newegg did a great job and offers a speedy way to get your product. Thanks Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: Like to say that Samsung always has top-quality products, and I've always been pleased with their hardware. This RDRAM is just as it says, works great, no problems, and would recommend anyone who has a RDRAM motherboard, and wants to do a 1GB upgrade (have to buy 2 of these 512MB sticks). About the cheapest place you'll find this kind of RAM at for this price; and with Samsung as the hardware, and new egg as the distrubuter, you can't loose!
