If you liked the other installments you'll enjoy this
- Pros: Fast paced, edge of your seat action. It's a pretty challenging game too. Runs great at max settings on my setup (see below). It's a well optimized console port unlike some games (Assassin's Creed anyone?)
- Cons: None really. However contrary to what others have said, you do NOT need an xbox 360 controller to play this. I have a cheap-o Walmart USB controller and it works fine.
- Other Thoughts: Runs at 60-80 FPS MAX SETTINGS and at 1680x1050 rez on my setup. C2D OCd to 3 Ghz, MSI P6N SLI Platinum mobo, MSI Geforce 9600 GT OC edition, 2 Gigs DDR2 Ram, Acer 1680x1050 19" LCD panel.
hm...
- Pros: Action packed, with a little bit of strategy in the mix.
- Cons: Keyboard only. Console port, as mentioned. How about some real programming?
- Other Thoughts: I too had trouble getting past the first portion of 'tutorial' due to the keyboard controls. I've found that you can't tweak any of the keys to your normal playing style, but just gotta adjust to what the keys are set to. I'd much rather be able to use the mouse at least for attacks and such, would make it a LOT easier. Does take a lot of getting used to the controls.

Great Game!
- Pros: Great game play, does the series justice, Highly addictive and runs great with a AMD athlon 64bit 2.8GHz dualcore and ATI 4670HD
- Cons: None... maybe could have had more levels.. xD
- Other Thoughts: If I had the money I would buy a copy for all my friends!
- Pros: Great looking graphics good game play. Can be pretty challenging easily worth the asking price.
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: Very good game for the money.
Great Port, OK game
- Pros: Great port, smooth controls. Compatible with any generic Playstation-like gamepad. Fast paced action, very fancy maneuvers and quite a few gameplay mechanics improvements over DMC3. I had a lot of fun.
Boss fights are a blast. Good balance of difficulty and rewards, though anyone who finished DMC3 will find this game on the easy side.
I had no framerate problems on an nvidia 8800, with a 3 year old AMD dual core. Running at 1680 x 1050, high graphics settings.
- Cons: A short game. About half of the game is a repeat, but you play with a difference character. Story is not as epic or engaging as DMC3, I did not really care of any of the characters.
The boss fights, while entertaining, were not as awe-inspiring as those in DMC3 (Beowulf, Revan, Cerberus, etc.). Mostly because you're fighting humans turned evil, rather than creatures of legend, but that's just me.
The background music is weak and uninspired compared to the last installment.
Gameplay improvements are many, but gameplay innovations are few and minor.
- Other Thoughts: This is a good game overall. Newcomers who like stylish gunplay and demon slaying will enjoy it. Three stars because the gameplay is not as challenging or as engaging as DMC3. However, this is a MUCH better port than DMC3
At the current price, it's a good purchase for the visuals and fun.
