An honest review.
- Pros: A good purchase for the budget minded user. Quiet running even when the fan turns on. Played dvd movies without a glitch. Screen is crystal clear although it is a glossy screen. Didn't see any dead pixels. Wireless network card was fine after changing its settings (see below) The keyboard graphics is a sticker so you can remove it if you like. 4 USB sockets (2 on the side, 2 in back) are nice.
- Cons: Nothing major here. Side to side angle viewing is not as good as I would have liked, but sitting in front of it is easy on the eyes.
- Other Thoughts: Wireless network card defaulted to looking for a workgroup named "workgroup". When I changed it to my network's workgroup name, I found that it worked very well with better reception than my old usb external. Also the wireless LED did not light up until I made this setting change.
Very fair price
- Pros: Big bright screen, well designed case with lots of options for connections. Nice keyboard. Reliable mouse pad.
- Cons: The NASCAR theme did not appeal to me. I pulled off the decals and used adhesive remover, so it appears as an anonymous laptop without checker flags. It seems to have thin hinges and catch so I would not use it as a daily driver. But it is fab for sitting at home and moving to anther room or to the couch.
- Other Thoughts: The problem of the wireless connection is easily solved but not automatic for a beginner. Use F2 option and turn on the "card." A newbie should not be tempted to push the reset because the default asks you that when your first boot.

great for the price
- Pros: Has all the features that you could want for a cheap price.
- Cons: NASCAR logos and theme, but that's easy to remove.
- Other Thoughts: Added another 512mb of RAM and now it really goes.
Terrific value!
- Pros: Terrific hardware specs for the price. Once you remove the checkered flag / NASCAR stickers, and revert back to the regular Windows XP theme this laptop is perfectly fine. It come with very little bundled software (a good thing) and what does come with it is decent (an almost full copy of Nero).
- Cons: Battery life is a little less than desirable, most likely due to the Turion processor. Intel tends to be able to conserve more energy with their mobile processors.
The copy of Nero does not include Nero Burning ROM. You can only use Nero Express. This is probably a non-issue for most people.
- Other Thoughts: I'm a computer technician, and I recommend products to my clients all the time. I feel sorry for those that I've previously recommended relatively inexpensive name brand laptops to. Had this laptop been around earlier, I could have a bunch of people a lot of money. This is a terrific buy. From someone who prefers desktops to laptops, I'm finding my high praise of this laptop surprising.
Great
- Pros: Wasn't sure for the price!!! But it's great.... Has all the bells and whistles that I need.... AMD processor moves along real sweet! Computer design and case are cool!
- Cons: Yes...... removed NSCAR stickers ... theme and corny software. Now it's just fine.
- Other Thoughts: One of my neighbors saw computer and I ordered one for him!!
