1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT PURCHASE!

Pros: Does keep your xbox cooler... Kindof.

Asthetically pleasing, Asthetically well designed and matches it's paired hardware well.

Cons: DO NOT PURCHASE! Using this on your Xbox 360 Console WILL VOID YOUR WARANTEE! At least if you mention to tech support that you have been using this device.

The problem is this particular unit draws power directly through the power port, now while this seems like a solid plan it is not.

For some reason or another this unit draws enough power to cut the fanspead inside the console in half, thus reducing the console's own ability to cool it'self and making any additional cooling capabilities lack luster if not even worth it at all.

Other Thoughts: Nyko does however have another offering, one that uses an AC power adapter that does not Kill your XBOX and is perfectly safe to use and does not kill your Warantee. That Particular unit is Called the:
"Nyko Intercoller TS 360"
link to newegg:

Again, buy the Intercooler TC 360 for your Xbox, it is perfectly safe for your console. DO NOT BUY the Intercooler EX. I was told by Microsoft techsupport personally that if that peripheral was used, my warantee would be void.

1 out of 5 eggsBunk

Pros: none, seeing as it never worked right

Cons: soon as i plugged this in and fired up my 360 i got the ring of death.

Removed it and booted again, no ring of death.

Tried it once more to see if it was a fluke, ring of death.

Other Thoughts: It's kind of sorry that any system would even need such a product. I think these things were created when the system first came out and had serious over heating issues.

1 out of 5 eggsBad News Bears

Pros: none at all

Cons: I figured I would proactively try to save my xbox from overheating with this, (I was wrong) I thought it was my xbox that was making the jet engine noise but it was the cooler, it also would not let me start the console from the controller and it led to the death of my xbox making the screen freeze up all the time. DO NOT USE

Other Thoughts: It uses to much power and the other compartment of the system don't operate as well and after a while fail all together.

1 out of 5 eggsIt won't die alone..

Pros: It cools the 360 significantly, at least it did when I first purchased it.

Cons: The fans began to malfunction and create more noise. Unit died after 1 year of light use, never gaming for extended periods. The little tabs that hold it to the back grid broke off quickly into the unit when I took it off.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to reduce heat levels inside my 360, which it did at first. Over time it began sound different. One day I turned on my system and a drastic change in the fan sound occured and the entire 360 unit began to react violently, very weird stuff happened. I quickly ripped the cord from the wall and tore off this fan, and luckily saved my xbox from the murder/suicide. I was always nervous about the quality of this product, rightly so. I won't be replacing it.

2 out of 5 eggsWas good for its time

Pros: It is better than using the 360 without a cooler.

Cons: Draws power from the 360, robbing it of power it needs to run right. This causes all kinds of extra problems, including the RRoD.

The power connection can short, rendering your 360 useless.

The second you put one of these on your 360, your warranty is voided.

Other Thoughts: Spend an extra five dollars and get the Intercooler TS instead. This model was good for its time, but a much much better alternative exists now.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None

Cons: Caused quicker over heating and red ring of death

Other Thoughts: I bought this cooler to prevent my 360 from over heating again but it only made the problem worse it acually made the system over heat faster and then caused the red ring of death. So dont buy this it a waste of money and it will cause your system to have more problems!

3 out of 5 eggsI recycled mine

Pros: Well...... I was able to reuse it for another purpose. And when it worked, it did a great job at removing the heat. Over all, it's a great idea.

Cons: I got the red ring a few times in the 6 months I used it. I'm sure this has something to do with the 360's power supply not being able to handle the extra current when it starts up. Thus causing something to "trip" and not work right. My best guess is, the 360 may be sensing a voltage drop witch is causing the red ring error. So really, you could blame the power brick for the problem. Then again, Microsoft didn't foresee the intercooler when they designed their power brick.... but you really can't blame them either.

Other Thoughts: I pulled the fans out and made a cooler for my RDRAM in an old Dell computer I have. It was really fun project what with the soldering and finding a way to attach it to the motherboard with wire ties. Due to the shorter length of the RDRAM (vs. DDR2) it was a perfect fit for both length and width.

4 out of 5 eggsit's okay

Pros: keeps xbox cool, really pumps out the heat

Cons: over time, one of my fans got out of balance and started making a loud(er) noise. I had an extra case fan that was the same size, voltage, wattage, etc. So I just took the troublesome fan out and soldered the new one in. [I enjoyed fixing the thing]

Other Thoughts: adds some noise to gameplay, but when i'm playing, i don't even notice; and i don't care about the noise, it just means the xbox 360 is a beast!
