The Tuniq Tower 120 offers you an extraordinary solution for heat dissipation. You'd have a hard time finding a better CPU cooler at such an affordable price.
The Tower 120 is the world’s first high-raise CPU cooler. Instead of regular 7-blade fans, the Tuniq offers better performance with a unique 9 blade fan. It works ultra quietly so that you can hardly hear it. Furthermore, you can tune the speed of fan with the available controller. The 3 copper heatpipes embedded into the copper base easily transfer the damaging heat from the CPU to the huge heatsink. With the airflow created by the powerful 9 blade fan, the heat is dissipated rapidly.
For maximized contact between the copper base and CPU, high performance thermal grease is part of the package. The cooler is easy to install and perfectly compatible with all K8 and P4 CPUs. A quite practical CPU cooler for you.

This thing makes me cry tears of joy.
- Pros: WOW, this thing is so good at cooling, you could put it on top of an active volcano and cool it to stable levels.
- Cons: If you're holding it straight in front of you and you turn around too fast, you may accidentally strike and kill someone like I did.
- Other Thoughts: Buy it. It saved my life, it can save yours too.
very good heatsink
- Pros: This monster instantly dropped temps on my E6600 from 43C idle to 23C idle, BEFORE the thermal paste had even cured! That's with the fan around 1400 rpm. If I cranked it up, there's a chance I could even surpass ambient! This heat sink is the real deal! Fits perfectly on 965P-DS3. Ram, NB heat sink, and capacitors all clear this puppy.
- Cons: VERY IMPORTANT!!! I don't know how many others this has happened to, but as I was tightening one of the thumb screws, the head popped off. I was very surprised at first, because surely I hadn't applied enough pressure to shear the head off! On closer inspection, I discovered that the screws that are supplied are actually manufactured in two pieces: the shaft and the head. This is a VERY POOR design!! I shudder to think what would have happened if the screw heads had decided to pop off while I wasn't at my desk. It could just be that I inadvertently over-tightened them, but you have to wonder about vibration down the road too.
- Other Thoughts: To fix the problem, I picked up some machine screws and washers at the local hardware store. The thread is a common metric size, so they weren't tough to find. I would highly recommend that anyone else looking to purchase this heat sink do the same as I did and get new screws. You'll also need an offset screwdriver to tighten the new screws. Other than the mounting snafu, this is one solid heat sink. My motherboard seems to be holding up under the weight just fine. 4/5 only for the mounting problem. 5/5 otherwise.

Cool, quiet, but large and kinda ugly.
- Pros: This a large heatsink. I'm sure you already know this by now. But because it's large, there's a lot of surface area, which means nice heat dissipation. The included fan is actually quiet (rated at 20dBA) at its lowest speed, and you get a fan controller if you want to crank it up. I don't think my thermal paste has settled, and I probably should redo it since I ran into a lot of snags during installation, but right now I'm overclocking my Core 2 Duo from 1.86ghz x 2 to 2.80ghz x 2, and it idles at about 50 C and just under 70 C under load. Hopefully results improve with a repositioning.
- Cons: This is a large heatsink. It's also kinda ugly. I don't really know why they had to go with a wavy flamey pattern. It's incredibly unattractive. Fortunately, my tower doesn't have clear sidepanels so it'll be tucked away. Instead of the ugly wave pattern, they could've maximized the surface area by just opting to go flat and square.
The other big problem was motherboard clearance. The mount for 775s didn't fit at first because it didn't clear the heatsinks on my motherboard. I had to dremel off some sections in order to position the heatsink to blow out the back and not upwards.
- Other Thoughts: Overall, the heatsink does its job. It does a good job with cooling, even at the lowest, quiet fanspeed. It's a tacky shape, but I'll be keeping it tucked away so it won't be seen.
satisfied
- Pros: Suprisingly better than the copper $taleman HSF that it replaced by at least -20°C. With the aid of the Tuniq, my cpu temp never exceeds 40°C even when compiling ports with massive dependencies. Not bad for 90nm MP and a TDP of 125W! I also like the removable fan mainly for two reasons: 1. it'll come in handy when removing dust build-up from the "blades" and 2. just in case I ever plan on replacing it entirely, with say...a delta or something, the option will be available to me.
- Cons: Like other reviews have mentioned, the supplied thermal paste really is the pits.
- Other Thoughts: cpu: K8 (90 nm SOI)
ram: 6400C5DHX (x4) mb: MCP55 gpu: NV50 hdac0: AD1988B hdd: HD103UJ (x3) cd0: DVR-118L cd1: SH-S222A chassis: IPC-4098-BK psu: 1000R14HE os: FreeBSD 7.2-RELEASE wm: Xmonad 0.8.1_2
Very Nice
- Pros: It's really nice. It keeps my 940BE real cool. Not loud on all the way high fan speed.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: If you don't see the connector where your speed controller plugs into. Open up the fan. I did that... and it almost cut the wire...
