Pros: Great idea - I like it when it works

Cons: Buggy software doesn't always work properly.

Overall Review: I received 2 of these for Christmas gifts. I used them for lights in my house that are not accessible by switches. This product is ideal for that type of situation. I've also got a brand new iPhone 5S which is loaded with the Belkin application. As another reviewer notes, sometimes the switches show up and sometimes they don't. And sometimes when they do show up I see a yellow icon swirling around the switch icon which means they can been seem but cannot be operated. When you want to switch something on or off, having to wait for something to load properly is very frustrating. Worse is when the switch doesn't show up at all. I've only had the switches a little over a week, but the software failures have been numerous. Sometimes if I leave my iPhone alone for a couple of minutes the missing switch (or switches) will finally show up. Last night was not the case. Only 1 of 2 switches appeared in the software. I tried several things to get the missing switch to appear to no avail. I finally pulled the switch out of the electrical socket and reset it according to the manufacturer instructions. I then reinstalled the switch and so far, through today, it has worked. In the meantime I lost about 15 minutes messing around with it - that just shouldn't happen after initial setup. For the record, one switch is located less than 5 feet from my main wireless router. The other switch is located 10 feet across the room from a wireless repeater in another location in my house. Both have very high WiFi signals so it's not the WiFi causing the problem, so I have to conclude, like another reviewer, it's buggy software. And both switches, regardless of location, have experienced problems. I'd probably get more of these devices but not until Belkin addresses the apparent software issues.

Slow shipping

I found out after the item was ordered, that it was being shipped from China. Worse, there was no tracking number. And the shipment was lost and never arrived. I contacted the seller to report the lost shipment, and to their credit, they immediately shipped me another unit which I got a few days later (just in time for Christmas). I was definitely happy with the way they handled the problem, but if the item has been shipped from the U.S, with a tracking number, none of this would have happened. Their customer service was great which would have earned them "5 Eggs" - instead they got "4 Eggs" due to the shipping problem.
