Most Favorable Review

Great card.

EVGA GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card 012-P3-1570-AR
EVGA GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card 012-P3-1570-AR

Pros: Fast, relatively quiet, runs fairly cool without extra cooling (35-40c idle; 60-65c under load).

Cons: A tad large; could be a problem for those with smaller cases. Not necessarily a con, just something people should know to look out for. Will likely not fit in low-profile cases.

Overall Review: I've been using this card since March 2011. Just this past week I've had the card fail on me after over two years of -heavy- use. I'm both surprised and not surprised that this happened, given how much (and how heavily) the card has been used. My PC is kind of old (still rocking an i7 950), but this card just blew everything I threw at it out of the water, on high to ultra settings, depending on the game.

Most Critical Review

Starting to fail.

Western Digital Black WD5002AALX 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital Black WD5002AALX 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Quick, quiet, and never had any trouble out of it.. until now. (see below)

Cons: I've had this very hard drive since March of 2011, and just the day before yesterday my PC started throwing me BSODs one after another. After some debugging and testing, it's the hard drive. The diagnostic program straight off of Western Digital's website failed on both a quick and extended test, within seconds of starting them. The drive will boot to safe mode (it's the main drive, unfortunately) and seemingly stay there just fine, but seconds after booting normally and logging on to a user profile (which takes substantially longer than normal), I get another BSOD. I see this drive is now discontinued despite being under the 5 year warranty. Hopefully I'll be able to return it or something. This is the second or third drive from WD I've had fail well within the warranty period.

Overall Review: The drive was never heavily used despite being the main drive for this PC. Other than normal day-to-day operations, there was never a time when the drive was really stressed (ie: large amounts of data being put on to or taken off of it in short periods of time, etc.)

Amazing case.

RAIDMAX SMILODON Extreme Black ATX-612WEB 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case
RAIDMAX SMILODON Extreme Black ATX-612WEB 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case

Pros: Aside from just looking much better than most high-dollar cases, there's many things about this case that make it stand out. It's slightly larger than some, which is okay, but this also means that there's plenty of room inside for expanding. The stock fans (2x120mm [front and back], 2x80mm [side]) are very silent, almost inaudible, plus there's room for an extra (80mm) fan which snaps into place, and doesn't require screws. The expansion bay face plates actually snap in and out, so you don't have to worry about leaving a gaping hole in the front at any time. The GPU stabilizer is also nice, because the GPU I installed (EVGA 9800 GTX+) was about an 8th of an inch from being able to be secured with a screw (unless you find a longer screw [may not apply for all GPUs]). The major feature about this case that I really love is that the sides actually fold down, allowing VERY easy access to the motherboard, in case you ever need to replace a CPU cooler, memory, or re-connect some thi

Cons: The only thing I found wrong with this case was the front panel LED wire was too short to connect to the motherboard (female, 2-prong), and I had to use a spare molex jumper I had (which had the corresponding male connection) to actually make them work. That's all I found wrong with this case.

Overall Review: The clear plastic on the left side of the case is actually beveled around the edges, which is very nice, and adds even more to the overall quality of this case. The front panel and fan LEDs are good and bright. Like others have said, if you want to go all out and match everything, for the extra fan space you should get another green LED fan. The metal pieces that punch out (3 of the 4 expansion bay face plates have metal pieces behind the plastic placeholders) are actually somewhat sharp, and I did manage to cut my fingers in a couple places without even noticing, but it's not a big deal at all really. All in all, this is the best case I've ever came across, and for the money, is a great buy. I highly recommend this case for anyone looking for a nice, sleek case, who also happen to like the black+green color scheme.
