Great board!
Pros: Budget i7 920 build, clocked to 4.0 on air easily, took about 20min. Great packaging, this is the first moBo I've bought in a few years so maybe I expect less than others but it seems high quality compared to what I'm used to.
Cons: I have an HD5870 video card and had issues with it(see 5870 reviews). After many different drivers, the crashing/freezing changed visually, but still eventually happened. I recently added a fan over the northbridge on the moBo and it is surprisingly stable. I'd advise adding a fan over the NB if you're gonna OC.
HD5870 bad time?
Pros: Great card. Runs 3 - 28" 5670x1200 Eyefinity without a hiccup(well, for all intensive purposes). Came non-DOA and fired right up, easy interface and great craftsmanship. Ran FSX beautifully.
Cons: The GSOD(Grey/green stripes of death). An ATI/Microsoft driver problem still being dealt with. Luckily for me the stripes have been solved....the card still crashes, now just to a blank screen instead of stripes =P. Is that progress? For the money I paid I hope so.
Overall Review: 3 Eggs go to the EGG itself for being a standup site and shipping an almost entire system to me safely and nothing showing up DOA. I'm more than confident if I have to RMA my video card they'll be more than helpful. LONG LIVE THE EGG!
Working Great Thus Far!
Pros: Running an Eyefinity 3-28" 5760x1200 setup, the center monitor is a Hanns-G-281 the flanking are generic I-INC with the same LCD panels, so far so good. Can't beat the price that I payed for all 3. Ordered most of my parts from the Egg, a couple came from another site, but all showed up non-DOA/RMA, and OC'd easily....I couldn't be happier.
Cons: Blacks aren't very dark, I don't mind with casual gaming and database work. Also with the 28" Eyefinity setup, the monitors create a "heater" effect, I have the window cracked, even though it's Winter and single digits outside.
Overall Review: Quality image, blacks could be darker, better lighting and there could be a few more frills(connections, options, etc) overall a great product for the price. All I know is I have 3-28" monitors in Eyefinity 3x1 for about $900.....I'm happy. LONG LIVE THE EGG!
