Extremely Cool!
Pros: Read plenty of reviews on Newegg before I purchased this sound card. I was hesitant to spend this kind of money on sound for my games... but I would spend it all over again! You literally can hear where your enemies are coming from! You can tell if they are right around the corner, or if they are a ways around the corner. Sounds are crisp, clear, and much more lifelike. FPS like BF2 and RS Vegas, your gun creates different echos depending on what enviroment you are in(indoors, outdoors, tin shed. etc.) Company of Heroes is freaking awesome too. The radio, artillary, everything sounds so real. Also because your CPU doesn't have to process the sound and turns it over to the sound card, my Framerate jumped between 5-10 more frames per second with all my games. If you are on the fence regarding buying this card or not, consider this review your deciding factor
Cons: none
Overall Review: The only bad thing is that I am used to the higher level of sound and can't tell the differene any more. But the first three months I was drooling because I could tell a HUGE difference. Now I am just spoiled. =)
Good Card
Pros: Good card. I have a CoolMaster case and I can hear the fan ramp up. Once the fan hits 65% its noticable above my case fans. I'm coming from an EVGA 275gtx and this is a ver big improvement. Plus its DX11. Here are some frame rates I captured with FRAPS AVP 2010 DX11 Max Settings at 1920 81fps avg Bad Company 2 DX11 Max Settings at 1920 70fps Black Ops Max Settings at 1920 59fps Homefront DX11HIGH (not highest) 63fps HIGHEST No AA 27fps Metro 2033 DX11 High at 1920 No AA 41fps Highest 24fps Overall I'm am very satisfied with this purchase over my previous 275 gtx. If I were to game at at 1680x1050 this would do even better. But why waste a 27" Samsung like that? I have never thought of getting SLI cards but I may if they come down in about 6 months to help out with my huge monitor
Cons: NOT A CON I do NOT overclock my GPU's, RAM, or CPU's above factory. I just want to point that out because i couldn't find any info on an i7 920 stock chip for the life of me to compare how my machine would do. So I hope this review will help someone becaue it would have me...
Overall Review: As of 3/14/2011 I DID receive my cd keys for Just Cause 2 and Mafia 2 CoolMaster Case 750 Watt 570 GTX SC 6 gig ram Win 7 64x Intel i7 920 @ STOCK SPEEDS
No Regrets
Pros: Upgraded from a 7800 gtx. Obvious performance boost. Newest games I play are Supreme Commander and Rainbow Six Vegas and can play both at max settings (1680x1050) with all the eye candy and no slowing at all. Decided to go with 640 MB over 320MB to help make this purchase last longer. Card has been extremely stable and would not hesitate to spend this much mony with PNY again. Usually buy EVGA but heard great review on this card and love it.
Cons: BIG CARD! Nearly touches my harddrive on other side of case! Gets pretty warm/hot so be prepared for that as well
Overall Review: E6600 core 2 duo. 2 gig, 8800 gts 640MB. Windows Vista
Confident Buy
Pros: Upgraded from an 80GB 2MB cache WD to this. I purchased this drive for more memory as well as the 16mb cache. I have not seen an increase in fps in gaming (BF2, BF2142, BFME2) but I have noticed that everything runs a LOT smoother! Manuvering between applications is a breeze now. I would highly recommend this drive because the price is so good! Newegg delivered on time as usual.
Cons: Would have prefered it to be an IDE drive for convenience purposes.
Overall Review: AMD 3700+ @ 2.4 7800GT
