Pros: 2 Gb on-board RAM
Supports Direct X 12
Cons: None, so far
Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace my HD 5770, that was showing it's age. While I don't play any games that require massive frame rates, I do stream a lot of video. So far this card has performed in far excess of my expectations.
The only problem that I had was actually with the rebate offer. NewEgg states that it's a $20 rebate, but upon filling out the information needed for the rebate, the rebate site says that it's actually a $10 rebate. Since rebates have nothing to do with the cards performance, I didn't take off any eggs.
Pros: It's a DVD burner and does the job expected of it
Cons: The included Software CD belongs in the trash, not in the box with the burner.
Other Thoughts: I'd give the burner 5 stars if it included a better software package. I don't expect a full version of burning software to be included but I do expect something besides trial software and a limited edition that consists of more pop-up ads for the full version then it does of actual features.
After I discovered that the limited feature burning software installs a gadget, on your desktop, that's impossible to hide or turn off, I uninstalled the software and threw the CD away.
This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3P AM3+/AM3 AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: Current setup:
Seagate 500Gb HDD
WD 1TB HDD
Samsung 48X DVD burner
Antec EA-650 PSU
AMD HD 5770 Video Card
8GB Crucial Ballistix RAM
A vast improvement over my old Gigabyte Socket 775 Mobo.
Other Thoughts: This is the 8th Gigabyte motherboard that I've owned. I only had a problem one time and Gigabyte's customer service was excellent, earning them a lifetime customer.
Note: The driver files, on the included CD, tend to be outdated. The latest driver's can be found on Gigabyte's website. This isn't a con or worth deducting an egg for.
