Beat 4870 1G

Palit GeForce GTX 260 896MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card NE3X262SFHD94
Palit GeForce GTX 260 896MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card NE3X262SFHD94

Pros: Twin fans GTX 260 216cores VTune ( Overclocking Utilities ) Easy to install Nice looking Great performance It's pretty much a XFX GTX275 after overclocking.

Cons: When overclocked too much, it resets itself to Min Clocks without notifiying you. So if you notice your performance is halved, then this could be the reason.

Overall Review: I bought this card to replace my old Sapphire 4870 1G GDDR5 DX10.1. It already beat the 4870. Very nice card.

Regret

Samsung ES7500 series 55" 1080p 240Hz LED HDTV UN55ES7500F
Samsung ES7500 series 55" 1080p 240Hz LED HDTV UN55ES7500F

Pros: 55 inch, Good picture on bright scene. Smart Hub probably best out there. Has a camera. Plenty of ports.

Cons: Active 3D flickering hurts my eyes, which makes the whole 3D feature worthless. LED edge lite bleeds through pretty bad. 90 Degree viewing angle is fine, which defeats the purpose of being wide viewing angle. When it comes to dark scene, it makes me wanna donate it to goodwill.

Overall Review: Should've trusted the previous reviews. Now I regret that I bought it. Ports are horizontal, which makes the port support the weight of the cable, and sticking out. Good they discontinued it.

Meh

EVGA GeForce GTX 970 04G-P4-2974-KR 4GB SC GAMING w/ACX 2.0, Silent Cooling Graphics Card
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 04G-P4-2974-KR 4GB SC GAMING w/ACX 2.0, Silent Cooling Graphics Card

Pros: 1. Cheapest 970 when i bought, ~ $290 2. Performs well 3. comes with a free backplate and a game. 4. EVGA big brand.

Cons: 1. Coil whine around heavy load. 2. Default fan curve is ineffective, the fan kicks on low around 60C, and really starts cooling after 80C. Biggest concern so far. Downloaded afterburner, control fan curve via software.

Overall Review: My previous EVGA 660 fan curve can be modified permanently via software. I haven't had any luck with this 970 yet, but still trying.

Slow

TP-LINK Archer C5 AC1200 Dual Band Wireless AC Gigabit Router, 2.4 GHz 300 Mbps+5 GHz 867 Mbps, 2 USB Ports, IPv6, Guest Network
TP-LINK Archer C5 AC1200 Dual Band Wireless AC Gigabit Router, 2.4 GHz 300 Mbps+5 GHz 867 Mbps, 2 USB Ports, IPv6, Guest Network

Pros: Easy install, works.

Cons: LAN connection with CAT6 is very slow. File transfer rate and remote sessions within LAN are slower than a 4 year old router from D-Link DIR 655. Wifi 2.4Ghz latency spikes, 5Ghz network is even slower.

Overall Review: should've bought something else

WD Green WD40EZRX 4TB IntelliPower 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - Bulk Bare Drive

Pros: Looks legit.

Cons: takes 10 secs every time for my system to recognize the disk. Couldn't be formated either to 2G or 4G. There is clicking sound irregularly.

Overall Review: tried: upgrading bios, re-installing os. enabling UEFI, converting to MBR or GPT, tried a variety of things with it. no luck at all. Good thing is i am good at diskpart now.

Cloud doesn't rain

WD 3TB My Cloud Personal Network Attached Storage - NAS - WDBCTL0030HWT-NESN
WD 3TB My Cloud Personal Network Attached Storage - NAS - WDBCTL0030HWT-NESN

Pros: Plug n Play: It was auto-setup. had it powered on for less than a minute, it showed up on my network.(Win 7 & Mac both picked up really well) Speed: Standard ethernet cable transfer rate (computer to computer by ethernet via router/switch). This may vary with your router/switch (or WiFi connectivity), so the numbers came out of my setup wouldn't necessarily be applicable to you. User-experience: In case you don't bother to read the manual that it came with the package, you won't be stuck, it is pretty comprehensive already by looking at the UI itself. Back up: There is a backup feature to back up this NAS, which sounds awesome, though I have not tried it. It can be done either thru the back USB3.0 Port or Anywhere on the network.

Cons: Security: The security side of this NAS is useless. (As long as he/she knows the IP address) Anyone in your network is able to remote in and mess with the system, which includes setting up username/password, enable/disable public access of certain folders. Mobile Cloud: I did not set up my remote access of any local data. Reason is it must be done thru WD website, does WD audit your personal files? I don't know, but I guess is lack of privacy that way. =[ Time Machine / Restore Points: It is limited to work with Mac OS, so windows users will not get to use this extra cool feature. The latest firmware does not support windows restore/backup system.

Overall Review: I had it for only 2 hours, but I tried my best to interpret my so-far understanding of this device. What says above may contain inaccurate commentary, please forgive. After all, it is a simple NAS, does the main intention: storage. I wasn't expecting much, so give it a 4-egg rating. For those of you who had it, how do i log into those private shares? What domain should I use? domain\username?
