One of the best investments to make

BenQ 24" 120 Hz TN Height & Pivot Adjustable 120Hz 3D-Ready LCD Monitor 5ms (2ms GTG) D-Sub, DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, Headphone Jack XL2420TX
BenQ 24" 120 Hz TN Height & Pivot Adjustable 120Hz 3D-Ready LCD Monitor 5ms (2ms GTG) D-Sub, DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, Headphone Jack XL2420TX

Pros: If you're one of those people on the fence about going for a 120hz and/or 3D monitor, do it. I wrote the tech off when it came out because I assumed it was as gimmicky as 3D in the theater (I have yet to try out the 3D on this monitor because my nvidia card is in the process of being RMA'd). It really is the best visual investment you can make to your system. Seeing even the desktop in 120hz makes you never want to go back. The hotkey switch that is included is awesome. You'd think that it's also a gimmick, but you can download the 'pro' calibration settings on their website and load them into the presets. I find myself swapping these all the time whether I'm looking at my desktop or playing certain game genres. It makes actually going through a monitor's menus a breeze compared to the awkward setup that everyone else is used to seeing. I'd go into more detail but I'll save everyone the TL:DR. Pros: -High range of motion swivel. You can adjust this thing in a huge variety of ways and the stand is very high quality. This monitor also goes vertical if needed. -Hotkey switch. Explained above. -120Hz. -Image quality. Some people can be really picky here. It's very easy to adjust with the menu navigation. I think I care more about how awesome the 120 hz makes everything look. -Tons of connections. Multiple USB, DVI, HDMI, and a display port.

Cons: Cons: -Price, depending how much you pay it could be pretty hefty. It is also apparently pretty tough to find these in stock, even on their website. -Monitor has sensor 'buttons' for power and navigation. It's pretty cool, but a good old fashioned button just works better. -Can't think of anything serious.

Overall Review: If you're on the fence for a 3D monitor, whether it's this one or the other 4 or so major models, do it! I can't be happier, and if your computer is powerful enough to run games at 120 fps, you will love that you're getting all the visuals out of it that you deserve.

The Lamborghini of Hair Dryers

Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer
Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer

Pros: -Makes the wife happy -Street cred amongst her friends

Cons: -Expensive, but worth it

Overall Review: Got this for my wife on her birthday. This thing is pretty amazing and if you've used any other Dyson product you know you are getting top tier quality, you just have to pony up for it. She would do a better review but she basically said it's the best. Her old hair dryer would take like 20 minutes to dry her hair and this thing does it in 5 and leaves her hair 'shiny'. Just take my word for it and get it.

Great PS!

Thermaltake SMART Series SP-750M 750 W ATX 12V V2.3 & EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Semi-Modular Active PFC Power Supply
Thermaltake SMART Series SP-750M 750 W ATX 12V V2.3 & EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Semi-Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: -No gimmicks...truthful advertising which I love in this day and age of computer marketing -Japanese capacitors as stated on box -Works very well so far! Will update if needed. -Good price -Big fan -Modular, flat cables

Cons: -Reportedly loud fan. I am not sure if it's placebo, but I seem to notice the fan noise coming from my case more. Not enough to bother me.

Overall Review: My last power supply finally crapped out on me after a solid 7 years or so of use. It was a Thermaltake 600W power supply and considering that's the minimum of my graphics card (GTX 580), it had been reliable the entire lifespan. I decided to stick with Thermaltake because of how good the last one was. I got every penny out of the first one and hope for the same with this current one.

Very good case!

CM Storm Sniper - Gaming Mid Tower Computer Case with Fan Controller and LED Light Switch
CM Storm Sniper - Gaming Mid Tower Computer Case with Fan Controller and LED Light Switch

Pros: Very cool looking case with awesome ventilation and low noise. I would say most of the noise that comes from my case is the HD and my graphics card, as I've tested out turning the fans to full power and the noise barely changes. It comes with 3x 200mm fans and a 120mm fan in the back which is all the ventilation I would ever need. The front top usb panel is very handy and it's fun controlling fan speed, turning on/off the fan LED's, and of course the USB and ESATA ports are quite handy. It is a heavy case but at least you feel like you're getting your money's worth out of something so sturdy. Installation is incredibly easy with toolless everything, from the side panels to the case, the card installers and HD bays and CD-ROM bays. The dust filters are very handy as well and within a week I saw some dust build up that would otherwise be in my case that was instead stuck to the outside.

Cons: Since I simply transferred over my old equipment to the new case my white DVD writer doesn't look too good with the case and sticks out like a sore thumb. I wish the bays had a cover that would pop open like my old case but this is very minor. Also, like many reviews have stated the lack of a dust filter on the PSU is unfortunate and I don't see why they wouldn't have just put one more in there since they have one for the optional bottom fan. I'm trying to think of another con and just can't come up with one, I love this case!
