ASUS Laptop U30 Series Intel Core i3-350M 4GB Memory 320GB HDD NVIDIA GeForce 310M 13.3" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit U30JC-A1

Pros: Bought for college. Not there yet, but toting it around so far has been a breeze. Very portable: screen is just the right size, and it's pretty light. Plays all the games I want it to. Very well-balanced in general. The battery life is the icing on the cake. I can take this out for the day and just leave the cord at home. I would definitely take this computer, over a computer that was better but with short battery life. It's just SO convenient. The look of the laptop is something I can really appreciate. The brushed metal does not attract fingerprints. Love the keyboard. The trackpad is just a trackpad, not some media shortcut monstrosity.

Cons: Preinstalled bloaty junk. Be prepared to uninstall all this junk before using the laptop. No recovery disk, not even a plain copy of Windows 7, which is frustrating at the least (there is a CD with drivers on it, but that's all). Wish the screen was anti-glare. Dislike the buttons for the trackpad, but that's sort of personal preference. I thought I had avoided the glossy black plastic, but they put it around the screen, which also loves fingerprints. This thing does not feel extremely sturdy. Mainly, the top half with the screen is pretty thin. If you're planning to be rough with your laptop, get a thinkpad instead, because I don't know how much abuse this machine could take (not willing to try, either).

Overall Review: All of those cons don't add up to enough to subtract one egg for me. This laptop is absolutely perfect for my uses, which do not involve very intense gaming, so mileage may vary. When I mean perfect, I mean I have absolutely NO regrets in purchasing this laptop. So, in all: Portable, attractive, and powerful enough to satisfy the casual gamer.
