Fantastic Monitor
Pros: -Vibrant colors -Massive screen real estate -Price I haven't had any issues with this monitor in the year that I have owned it as far as color representation or pixels dying. I use mine for gaming, photo editing, and movies when my kids are using the television. I have an old gateway 24" that I only use for web browsing now that I have this as the colors are cartoony and appear fake next to this IPS panel.
Cons: Light bleeding. Some may not experience this. Others that have know that it can get incredibly frustrating in a low light or black section of a game/movie/photo. Mine is confined to the dead center of the bottom of my screen, it goes up about 3 inches but isn't noticeable unless the scene is dark.
Overall Review: A great purchase. I haven't regretted buying this a single moment. IPS is the way to go and for just under 400$ this is the way to get there. Even name brand companies have dead pixels and dead pixel return limitations. These monitors are examined and outside of the 20% light bleed they do a great job. There are fixes for the light bleed should you get one that has this issue, just go on youtube and you will get all the help you need.
Why me?
Pros: Affordable RAM. Nice looking heat spreader, very fast reported bandwidth.
Cons: High latency, will not work in my system. Tried so many options, changed voltages, changed timings, toggled XMP profile 1 on and off. Still Would not post. In fact, I got frequent lock ups in the UEFI (BIOS). I couldn't even change the settings in the UEFI with this RAM installed after I made adjustments.
Overall Review: Had to pop out the CMOS battery and unplug my system for a few minutes to clear the settings to install my old RAM. Only purchased this so that I could use the old RAM to build a computer for my kids. Looks like they won't be getting a computer any time soon. Don't know if I can RMA RAM that isn't dead... What option do I have? Windows 8 Pro 64-bit Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.5GHz BIOS Date: 10/29/13 15:13:00 Ver: 16.02 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti Z87 Pro
Disappointing
Pros: Powerful. Eats games for breakfast instead of the other way around.
Cons: Well, this is my second Sapphire 5870 (Cypress XT) and the first one artifacted after 2 months. I don't overclock my cards because I've had problems in the past with Nvidia cards. Anyway, Sapphire wouldn't let me return it to them, but Newegg, being the Kings of customer service that they are, did let me RMA it to them. They even gave paid return shipping! So then I got my second card about a week later. It was shiny and new and now just 5 months later the fan is dead and it is artifacting. I have a GTX 285 in my system now and I haven't had a problem. I know it isn't an ATI thing, so I totally blame Sapphire. Won't buy another card from them. I'd be afraid my computer would explode.
Overall Review: Worked great for awhile. That just isn't good enough. 1 year for a $400 card is awful. I spent $525 when I bought it in the first place. I'm happy for you if you haven't had trouble with these cards before, but if you haven't ever bought one look elsewhere first.
Good Card For 5 months
Pros: Strong Card for a reasonable price. Drivers are available and it does a very good job displaying games on the highest settings on my 24" monitor with my current build. I am not going to post what it is because it doesn't matter. I've never had an ATI card before and was impressed at the power for the low price of the card. Will definately consider buying more in the future.
Cons: Died on me after only 5 months of ownership. I have an office where i play all my games and keep it at a nice cool 70 degrees all the time. The temperature of the card never rose above 70 degrees celsius while stress testing the system. Full load. Yet it still managed to overheat and artifact on me. My screen turned bright red and i couldn't do anything.
Overall Review: Sending it back to Sapphire to get it replaced. Sadly i have to pay shipping, but they have a great warranty and remind me of the ATI version of EVGA. Will try this brand again and hope it works out. I loved the card when it worked.
Glorious
Pros: 3ms response time. enough said. it is proven that with the right stress level that even on 5 ms you can get ghosting. that takes a lot of stress though. this is bright enough to not get dulled out in the day time, yet it won't blind you. the size is perfect for hd gaming and movies. as a bonus the touch menu is easy enough to use.
Cons: on dark scenes of movies and games you can see the bright lights. i don't mind it, but some people might. it does get annoying when you play CoD 4 and you can't see around a corner cause the bright lights make the dark spots look foggy.
Overall Review: Great monitor. yeah it is a smidge on the higher price range, but for 3 ms and this resolution, i'll pay it. durability, in both the stand and dispaly. i never liked gateway till i bought this monitor. As always, newegg customer support is number one.
Pros: Great look and feel. Extremely fast and priced to sell.
Cons: Arrived D.O.A.
Overall Review: Newegg dealt with the situation as only Newegg's customer service team can. Quickly, and now I am expecting my replacemnt card in a few days. Thanks Newegg.
