AMD A10-7850K - A-Series APU Kaveri Quad-Core 3.7 GHz Socket FM2+ 95W AMD Radeon R7 Desktop Processor - AD785KXBJABOX
AMD A10-7850K - A-Series APU Kaveri Quad-Core 3.7 GHz Socket FM2+ 95W AMD Radeon R7 Desktop Processor - AD785KXBJABOX

Pros: There are reasons why this chip has been getting pretty good reviews online from all the various tech sites. It represents a leap forward in technology and the future of integrated graphics technology. Finally we have an APU as originally envisioned, or at least one that is as close to it as possible when paired with the Steamroller architecture...Other pluses are HSA, Mantle and True Audio; as more programs, especially games, are written using these technologies we will really see this processor start to come into its own and then in two years what AMD learns from this chip and the next generation will go into the A10-9XXX series with a new CPU architecture (hopefully one much better than Steamroller) and be manufactured on an even smaller process to give every AMD fanboy something to cheer about!

Cons: Steamroller. Need I say more about that? Sure, it is going to lag behind similarly priced Intel chips in processing power for CPU heavy programs, but it beats the shoes, socks, and pants off of them when it comes to gaming...The only other con that I can think of is that it is Dual Graphics compatible with R7 series cards and not R9 series cards. Hopefully, this is something that can be solved in the future with drivers updates...

Overall Review: I ordered this APU as soon as it came out to go into a Steam Box that I am building and to be paired with a MSI R9 290 Gaming 4G. I can't wait until it arrives and the machine starts to slowly come together!

Love G.Skill, just got a bad stick...

G.SKILL TridentX Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C7D-16GTX
G.SKILL TridentX Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C7D-16GTX

Pros: Low-latency from a quality manufacturer and vendor is probably the next best thing to capacity. Then of course speed...I love G.Skill RAM; I switched to them from Corsair back around 2007 and haven't looked back. It is my RAM of choice when building a system.

Cons: After installation I could not get the system to boot to Windows. Nothing I could do would get the system to boot stably. Even removing all overclocks and then underclocking the system it still did not work. The system recognized both sticks of RAM but a memory test indicated a bad stick. As a result, I am returning this order for a refund and will continue to use my old RAM, despite having to underclock it, which is the reason why I ordered this new RAM in the first place....

Overall Review: Being forward-deployed US Navy in Japan pretty much means that I am limited Newegg (and a couple competitors that Newegg won't let me list...flagged as "inappropriate words" lol). Fortunately they are great companies and I rarely if ever have a bad experience. The downside is that it takes FOREVER and a day for something to ship to me out here. hence the reason why I am just returning this product for a refund instead of replacement...
